Is Zumba good?  I am not motivated, I don't like excercising and I am so mad that my last fill felt like an unfill.  I have been eating ok but could be much better.  My loss has been great but oh my gos**** would be so much better if I excercised more.  I did register for the 3day walk Susan G. Komen in November in San Diego, in support of my family and friends who have survived and succomed to Cancer and am starting training for that, but I need to be more consistent ... help I am slipping ... I feel myself going for the peanut brittle and raising toast ...

There are a lot of folks who like it.  You might want to post this on the LapBand forum, where it's been discussed a few times in the last two or three months.

I have not personally done Zumba and, at this point, don't have the time for it.  I'm going into a surge mode with other exercise modules because I am trying to tone my tummy up as much as possible while I concentrate on the last of the weight loss over the next 12 weeks.

Hello there. I hate to exercise as well. Seems like everytime I try something I end up quitting. The one thing I have found for me is walking. I love to walk and that is the only type of exercise that I am doing. I bought a cheap pedometer and try to take 10,000 steps a day which is roughly 5 miles a day. I wear it on my waist band at work under my shirt and my goal is to walk 10,000 steps a day. I also try and walk on my lunch break for 25 minutes. I know it doesn't sound like a lot but it all adds up and is so good for me. I don't walk on the weekends. I walk of course, but don't have a 10,000 step goal. The pedometer really motivates me and keeps me in line.

I would definately try walking. At first it seems boring but by week 3 it becomes a habit and for me if I don't walk now, it feels weird.

Good luck.

I totally agree with you, walking is doable and I like it more than the gym.  Today my 11 year old and I just went & did a mile in 20 minutes and my goal is to do a 15 minute mile for the 60 mile walk in November and I felt much better afterwards.  Thank you so much!

I have never heard of it but it does not mean anything.

I do want to address the motivation. First of all you have pointed out that you really have lost a lot. Sometimes our motivation slips because we become complacent and settle for..well we have already done this...I can fudge a bit and that is when we go down the slippery slope for sure.

It is sometimes hard to stay focused and motivated day to day because life has a way of interferring and we fall back on what we know best...eating and being a couch potato.

I can tell you from my experience....even if you just get some walking in or take stairs when you have the option...anything to keep your body moving and when you feel more like doing controlled exercise in a gym or to tape at home or whatever....honestly you will get to the point were you will want to do and could find yourself becoming an exercise junkie if you give it enough time.

There are several people here who a exercise junkies and they can tell you that once your get the endorphines going...you actually crave them like some crazed junkie for sure.

My suggestion is to take each day as it comes and find something in your day where you consciously move your body...focus on positive...not negative. You do have the power to turn this around and get some motivation!

Janine, thank you so much for your words, they actually brought tears to my eyes because this journey s what I want and I want to succeed.  The excercise is something I know is needed and am just coming to grips with things are ust not as easy as they used to be, so that you for the motivation, that is just what I needed!

Love it. In fact a couple years ago I was going to take their Instructors training and be a certified teacher. Due to divorce and other daily crap that went out the window. I do it at home as there are no classes around here where I live.
