I had pretty much hotten over my left sided pain I thought.  On Saturday night I tried refried beans for the first ime.  They seemed to go down fine.  On Sun Am I awoke with terrible pain.  I could hardly walk.  It stayed with me most of the day.  I thought I might be constipated so I took some MOM and called it a night.  This am I thought it was better and the MOM worked.  But as the morning has gone on and I started drinking my protein shake it is back to what is was yesterday.  It goes around to my back as well.  I have a call in to my Dr but no return call yet.  Just wondering if there is anyghing else I should be doing.  I have followed the diet cuidelines to a tee and everything else I am suppose to be doing.  I have noticed I gained 2 pounds this week....have not clue why  HELP!!!!!

Yanno, you might want to go to the pharmacy and get some Gas X strips.  It sounds like it's probably gas, especially since it was the first time you tried refriend beans.

Definitely keep hounding your Dr. for a return call to make sure it is not something more serious, but I do agree that trying some Gas X wouldn't hurt. Beans make you gassy, and I  sure know I had a lot of gas after my surgery.

I wish you the best of luck and hope that you get this all figured out.

Hugs,
Jenn

Thanks for your replys.  The Dr did call me back and she told me she thought it was jus the regular left side pain that can happen for weeks after surgery.  After talking to her I felt much better.  I was very glad we didn't have to make another 7 hour trip to Sac.   But she told me to really take it easy the next couple of days.  Bummer, Friday I came very close to walking a mile combining all the walks that I did.  I've not done that since being a teenager.  Except for walking the halls when I was a CNA.

I will be sure to pick up some Gas X.  I do think it will be a long time before I try beans again.  The pain is a sure deterrent.

Oh no...I just tried beans today.

I've stocked up with GasX incase I get the same reaction.

I'm glad to see your later posting @ UCD returned call was reassuring that all is fine & not to worry.

Don't worry @ the scale, number fluxuation can be misleading at this early stage since the body is still adjusting & retaining water.
