And i'm freakin out!!!!!

I've had surgery before (3 times to be exact) so its not that... i guess i'm just venting here so bear with me...

I think its the following:

- i have two little ones (3 and 1) and it scares me to even consider leaving them!
- i have only told my mom and husband about my plans - no one in my circle knows of my surgery as I feel that they are too judgemental and I dont need the negativity - especially not while i'm trying to heal
- found out that i have gallstones and so I will have to have by gallbladder out at the same time :(
- i wonder what people will think... i know that people say that they don't really care but I DO - i try not to but i really do care.... ugh...

Now that I got that out, i feel a little better :D

First of all CONGRATS on your date.  That is great.

Try not to freak yourself out. I know I know, easier said than done. But I had some of the same fears especially the what if something goes wrong and I don't make it fear, but all turned out just fine.

Take some deep breaths, don't worry about what others think, you are doing this for YOU and not them.

Hugs,
Jenn

You are so lucky to have a date.  I am at goal weight and still waiting.  I too have not told anyone but my best friend and of course my husband.  Everyone just thinks I am on a diet because of my diabetes.  You can do it, I hear everyone freaks out for a while.  It is only natural, you are going to change your life.  Good luck!

Congratulations on getting a date...boy the word date sure takes on a new meaning when it comes to our health eh? Who you choose to tell is a personal choice and that is okay. I hope your surgery is smooth sailing and you have a speedy recovery!!!

Congratulations on your date.    You are only freaking out because now it has become reality about having the WLS.

Don't worry about telling your friends for their opinion doesn't matter.  You are having this surgery for you and only you.

Good luck and I will talk to you soon.

Thank you all for your reassurance!

I made the decision to have surgery after seeing my first blood test results! now THAT scared the crap out of me! I knew i was unhealthy but did not realize just HOW unhealthy...

I have been a lurker all this time but now I am soon to be on the looser's bench! :)

Congrats on your date....this is a big step and sometimes it's best to keep your circle small. I did and now I tell everyone it's done now and I'm happy about it and I have found alot of my family and friends want to know more about it they were too scared to ask someone. So you never know you maybe able to save someone else life.
