Psych consult. Anybody know a good PhD ?

Particularly  San Diego area ?  I got a quote of $3,500 reduced to $2000.  This price seems way excessive to me.  What do you think?  Since we'll be paying out of pocket for the eval I'd like to know a reasonable price wise for the psych eval.  Thanks!

That's ridiculous!  That might make sense for a few months of weekly therapy sessions, but not for a simple psych eval!   You might see if your insurance company or surgeon's office can give you suggestions.

I paid out-of-pocket for mine because the in-network shrink was a dolt who kept rescheduling.  I went with Dr. Marc Bock in Huntington Beach, which would be a long drive for you, but if you can't find someone reasonably priced in SD, the drive would be well worth the savings.  He was very nice, required just one consultation, and charged me only $185.  You can check him out at http://marcbock.com/ or call him at 714-847-5350.   Good luck!

That's crazy. I paid $225.00, I went to Scott Boliver in Fullerton. He was fantastic and he also had this surgery. I would recommend him in a heart beat.
