Happy Saturday!

I guess Janine is still in her bed so I will get this post started.  Keep her friends in your prayers as from last I heard she has not spoken to them as of yet.  I survived yesterday, believe that or not.  They put me in charge of the popcorn machine for hours at the carnival.  I now officially hate popcorn.  The machine was the slowest one I have ever seen and my line was a mile long.  I was tap dancing and singing and doing a comedy routine to keep the kids busy as they were waiting for this.  I was not in charge or I would have had popcorn ready for the opening time and not wait until after the carnival started to start the popcorn.  It was fun though.  I so enjoyed the day, I worked hard and played hard and that is the best thing.  Today I am going to help a friend do some organizing as I so love to do that.  It should be fun.  I look forward to spending time with her  and getting something productive done.  So what is everyone up to this morning?  I hope some wonderfully fun and exiting things.  Well I have spoke long enough.  Tell me tell me what you are up to today.  Make sure you do something nice for just you today.

Morning Miss Rhonda the popcorn Queen!!! In my humble opinion...mass amounts of popcorn stink!!! LOL

I did sleep in for me...I did not rise until a little after 5...YAY on me!!!

I have not heard from my friend as of yet....but i have to tell you...our firefighters here in Palm Springs are just the best...well other firefighters too....and our surrounding valley...but they have gotten the fire on San Jacinto that started on Tram Rd....you know where you take the arial tram for those who are familar with the area, and it spreas so quickly...we're talking within a half hour or so all the way to Racquetclub Drive....and miraculously only damaged two homes.

I am telling the area where the fire spread to is one of the wealthiest areas in Palm Springs. It is called Little Tuscany, I was so worried for all those people and I have a dear friend who lives up there and I still have not heard from him and I am sure he was one of the people who were evacuated....he is one block over from RacquetClub.

I cannot tell you how much I give kudo's to the firefighters and all the police who kept everyone safe and has gotten the fire 100% contained! The potential loss could have been significant especially since the winds were up around 70 mph....the news person said that was actually close to hurricane force!

The wind really  did a number all around me yesterday....power poles were snapped down....I mean literally big poles all around the airport area. Roofs blown off...the palm frawns are EVERYWHERE....I was even pelted with them on the way home yesterday!!! EGADS this mother nature was in a fury yesterday!

I hope you all survived the weather it was a wild ride!

Today brings for me....my friend!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEhaw!! Gabbing and the dreaded you know what!!!! Tomorrow I hope to go to the Art Festival in Indian Wells which they had to close down yesterday. They are painting a huge mural that is being donated for an organization that the First Lady is involved with. How cool is that?

Well as for me today - I am headed off to Oceanside with Naomi to see the SD group for lunch...should be fun for sure and I will definitely take pics -  you know me...

but as for right now - its time for coffee and the newspaper.

Good Morning Rhonda and Cali,

So glad to have this break I am mentally exhausted.  Worked on my hair this morning while my child is sleeping.  Wow I really did have a bypass this time.  My hair has not been this thin since I started growing it.  didn't lose a strand the first time around.  I also get to go get a pedi before we take grandmother to the airport to head to hawaii for the week.  Something is just not right about this picture.  I look forward to a week of being a stay at home mom.

I tell you Monica...my hair has never been the same and I guess coupled with that nasty word called menopause...I do not think my hair will EVER be the same. It is really a  big sadness to me because I use to have really thick lush hair....now I have icky hair! I know I am going to lose a ton of it again too after surgery next month....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I always do no matter what the surgery is!

Hope you have a grand week with Miss Jordyn....I know we do not get spring break for another week still. I am so looking forward to it too!!! The kids are super squirrels now and when they get back...right into testing...now how stupid is that?

I am up later than usual, my blood sugar was out of wack yesterday.  I guess I need to see my PCP again.  But it looks like it will be a glorious day.  The sun is shinning I can work on my yard.  I love my roses.

I will say a prayer for all the folks down south, I did not hear of any fires on our news, but sometimes it does not make it.  My sister is in Palm Desert and I will give her a call to see how she and her in-laws are doing.  She works not too far it sound like from where the fires were/are.

I'm so glad it's the weekend. it has been He!! at work this last week. Sammi and I slept in a little this morning and are just puttering around a little before heading out for our weekend errands. Having dinner at my Mom's this evening and she's keeping Sammi for a sleep over. DH and I will have a quiet night at home. :)

Good Morning Rhonda and all my California Friends,

Yes, those winds were something else yesterday, weren't they?  I saw the report on Palm Springs on the news last night.  OMG!  I hope all is well with your friends Janine.  Rhonda, you are a Saint!!!   A Pop-Corn Saint!!!  I bet those kids had a wonderful day and what a fun way to share it with them!

I have been having wrist issues again.  I have an MRI on Thursday to see what's up.  I also have been getting my teeth worked on.  Yesterday was the big appointment for the impressions and temporary crowns.  I took a valuimn before my appt so I really came home and slept.  I hate the shots in the roof of my mouth most of all.......painful.  But it will be worth it.

Janine - did I miss something?  Why are you having surgery next month if I may ask?  I hope all is well with you.

Sue, I just LOVE that picture of you and Sammy at the beach!  It's just beautiful.  Looks so peaceful...........

Has anyone heard from Jodi????  I miss you girl, I hope all is well.

We have a flat tire on the RV that we need to get fixed this morning and then I have to take my daughter to Martinez to see her step-Grandpa who is dying.  She wants to say good-bye.  I am not looking forward to this at all.  He has cancer and only has a few days left on this earth....... It is going to be a sad day.........
