Happy Saturday!

Good Morning Rhonda (aka Popcorn Queen) and my Cali Friends,

The weather is so beautiful today, I can't wait to go outside.  Poor dear hubby is reading all day, wow a month and 14 days until graduation cannot come fast enough for him.  He comes out after a day/night of reading and he looks like he is just fried.  Ya know, being a 54 year old student is tough work, but it will all be worth it when I see him walk that stage at Hearst Theater on May 18th! 

Today my mother-in-law and I will do our Costco run, that's always great fun.  We enjoy spending time together.  I am quite sure we'll visit my father-in-law later today.  He is doing better at the convelescent hospital, but every time he gets sick it takes him a while longer to bounce back.  He has a UTI right now that they are treating.

I met with the John Muir Nutritionist yesterday and it sure was wonderful hearing that I was doing things almost perfect!  I found that UCSF doen't have a great follow-up program as far as nutrition, so my PCP set me up with John Muir.  She is great, and gave me some helpful hints.  I need to push a little more water and do some resistance training.  Other than that, she was astounded that I can tolerate all foods this soon, e.g. salad.  She did tell me to cut out carbs (my 2 stone wheat crackers and a popcorn cake) that I ate with my cheese for snacks.  Said to get my carbs at the 3 meals and only after protein and veges are finished.  Easy breezy.

So anyway, that's what I am up to today and yesterday.  I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL day and great weekend.  Enjoy this beautiful weather.

Good Morning Rhonda Roo and the rest of the gang!  This morning brought me up at 8 to get to the hairdresser for a haircut.  The amazing thing is...............I haven't had this much hair since I hit puberty!  My hair is growing in like gang-busters!  I have not lost a single strand and the rest is growing in nicely  My super thin spots are almost all gone and the rest is thickening up.  I am happy!  I know it's because of all the vitamins I'm taking and my biotin.  Jayden got a haircut too so he'll be lookin' good when his g-ma shows up from LA next week!

Then, Jayders and I went and got my blood drawn for my appointment with the doc on the 21st.   Then we hit a sale at ShopKo and he scored a Nintendo DS learning game. 

I AM GOING TO CLEAN MY HOUSE!  It's filty, disgusting and hasn't been this bad .... ever.  I'm fed up.  The old man's going to work and Jayden's going to his room and I'm breaking out the muscles, turning on the music and by God I am going to clean this sty up.  I have no idea how people can live with clutter strewn around.  I've been on "strike" and the only thing it accomplished is a messy house.  Need to move onto plan B  I'm going to start charging him $100 a week to clean up after his butt.  And, he'll pay it whether he wants to or not.  Take that Bald Man!

This weekend is going to be nice and relaxing.  Today I plan on reading by the pool, lounging in my new hammock!  My surgery is on Monday and while I am quite excited I am also scared out of my mind.  I know it's going to be great, but it is life-altering and that is just a bit scary.  Thankfully, I have great support.

I just know you will do great with your surgery!  Look how much you have already accomplished pre-surgery!  Congratulations on a great beginning to a new life ^_^  I know you're feeling a little scared...but just remember to get up walking as soon as you can after surgery...it will make a world of difference to how you feel. Will be thinking of you on Monday...and can't wait to see you posting again to let us know how you are doing ;-)

Afternoon Rhonda
Well, my day has turned out to be just sittiing back and relaxing. Had planned on attending a support meeting in Lodi but unfortunately, just as I was getting ready to drive off, I discovered I didn't have enough gas in the car and not enough time to stop, get gas and still make the meeting on time. So turned around and came home; Lon and I watched a documentary on President Jimmy Carter and then I jumped on here to see what everyone is doing LOL  Guess I should jump back off and take my 'kids' for their walk...every time I go near the front door, they are there waiting to go. LOL

Anyway, not much going on...kinda like it when I don't have plans or schedules...but I feel so quilty!  LOL  I mean I 'should' be doing something constructive, right???  I know, I'll go sit outside in my newly mowed back lawn and suck up Vitamin D ^_^

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather!  And Janine, and everyone living over in the PS area...you are in my prayers that the fire(s) are fully contained and everyone can return home, safe and sound.
