17 days post-op and doing great!
Hi All, first I want to say I am sorry I haven't posted since the surgery, but it almost feels like a whirlwind since then. Focusing on my walks, eating and drinking according to my doctor's regimen, and learning to pay attention to my body and how it reacts to what and how much I put into it has really been an interesting experience.
My wife, ThatKimGirl, kept telling me this would happen and I should pay attention, but you just have no idea until it happens to you.
Anyway, back to how I am doing. I am feeling great! The first couple of days post-op in the hospital and at home I felt some extra gas, but that has totally gone away. I made it through the first level of clears and I am enjoying some specific soft foods like they were french cuisine. I am noticing that it is easier to finish my protein shake in the morning, giving me more time to drink water during the day, so I can enjoy some other meals as well.
One of the interesting effects that I hope continues, I seem to have more of a focus about when I can exercise again (without overdoing it - only 2+ weeks out), then I do about eating or drinking. I seem to have to remind myself that I need to keep drinking.
Of course the weight loss is nice, but the body change is always better. I already have had a WOW moment - fitting into a pair of jeans that wouldn't even close a few months ago. And a shirt that I bought on my honeymoon was not fitting at all, now it almost hangs on me. VERY exciting!
Thanks for listening! Being a loser is such a blessing!

Hi Tim,
Glad you are doing so well. Give my Kim a huge hug from me. My doctor said I could jump out of an airplane an hour after surgery if I was so inclined. I was not, but it was good to know that I could. lol. Walking is always good, so when you are really up to it lets all take a hike. I will come down your way as I love to try new places. Again so glad to hear that you are doing so well. Keep working that pouch.
Rhonda
