Easter in the E R
I had pain in my pouch that started last night about 7:30 but I thought it would just go away...It didn't. So after being up all night I decided to drive myself to the ER. I had blood work and a CT and everything came back normal. But while I was there the Dr looked up my most recent Endoscopy and told me that there is a small ulcer.... Sheesh! I just want to feel better.
The doctor gave me a lovely ****tail of Mylanta and Lidocaine. Discusting
but it did help with the pain. temporarilay. He gave me a prescription of Carafate liquid, but it was 150$ so i didn't get it yet,
I hope everyone had a great Easter! I hope everyone ate alot for me

Hi Linda,
And we all keep hoping that you will finally be all fixed up with no more medical problems. I am so sorry you are still going thru all this. Might this small ulcer be the real reason for your other problems? I just want you to be pain free and life happy. I promise to keep my portions very small in your honor...just kidding.

I'm so sorry you had such a difficult time. Reading the other posts I have the impression that you have had a string of difficulties. I am so sorry your Easter Sunday was spent in the ER. I will keep you in my prayers.
Walking with you on this journey, Mary

You really need to take the carafate. That is what will help heal the ulcer. I suggest you contact your surgeon they may put you on Carafate and prevacid (or some other PPI). I am sure that some of your pain has come from the ulcer. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take the meds. I know that its costly.... but it beats an ulcer that bleeds.

Oh Linda, I can't believe that the doctor's can't get this under control. The medications should help. Check to see what your med alternatives are if the carafate is not on your insurance formulary. Ask the MD for samples. Please take care of yourself. You are such a source on inspiration to those of us struggling on our own journey.
Wishing you health, healing and comfort in this season of miracles.

Wow, I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well and had to go to the ER for some relief.
That is one mighty expensive 'scrip.
I had a nice Easter, I went to brunch with my brother at Samba in Redondo Beach and have been putting together furniture as part of my spring cleaning. I'm a pretty happy camper.
May the rest of your Easter be enjoyable.
PLEASE find a way to get the meds to clear that up.
I dont want to scare anyone but I lost a close friend to an ulcer that went undected. She was three years post op when she died. By the time they figured out what her problem was it was too late.
Her PCP was completely uneducated about WLS. So was the hospital that she kept going to. They knew she had the surgery but they didnt know what to look for.
