Surgery Today!
Hey all, just getting my bag ready for the hospital. My surgery is today at noon. I'm nervous and excited, but I just can't wait to get home and start my new life! I know the next few weeks will be tough, but I appreciate the support and information provided by all on this board and look forward to sharing my experiences as well!
Thanks for the kind thoughts everyone. The surgery went well and I was home Wednesday evening. My first night at home was a bit tough as I couldn't find a place to get comfortable. But yesterday went very well and I even slept in my own bed last night. I have still been using the pain medication about every 4 hours but I can feel myself getting stronger. This morning I even did 5 minutes of step class on the Wii Fit. I am hoping to do that a few more times today and maybe even go for a walk outside.
I do have a question for those of you on the loser's bench. My official pre-op weight was 296, but the day after surgery when I was weighed in the hospital, my weight was 304.5. Is that just from all of the gas and fluid retention? I got on the scale at home today and it showed 303 so I was just concerned about the lack of weight loss. I've been taking in as much liquid and protein as I can handle - yesterday ended up about 420 calories, 56 oz. of liquid, and 60 grams of protein. Just wondering when the weight loss begins??
