Hello everyone! CALI PEEPS!!! i POSTED THE BELOW ON THE DS  FORUM BUT i wanted any one who has doubts  with  appeals/denial process have  FAITH!!! there is hope with the DMHC.

My gratitude & respect  is to  Larra  on the  DS forum that  seen me on another  WLS forum.
She personally  took the time to PM me!  She informed me  of the duodenal switch,
Much to my surprise I never  knew that It would  & could be an option for me since I  had Kaiser(Nor-Cal), Yes  I had began reading and lurking on the  DS forum  from that day on , She invited me to a  DS support meeting and I have attended them ever since. They are so helpful  with the info and real issues that Post-ops go  through (good ,bad & smelly) and  to answer questions for pre-ops like me.

guess  who I had the pleasure to  meet there .... Diana Cox...  yes anybody who is on  OH

knows  who  she is  or has "heard" of her ( need i say more?).

I cannot  just say  a simple "thank-you"  it  will  NEVER be enough for what Diana(or Larra) has done for me.
Oh wait not just  for  me but for the many before me.
She  has paved the way and continues to do so. ..by far she is not done.

 Gratitude& respect  to:

Diana Cox for every bit of her VALUABLE KNOWLEDGE that she shares freely and gives her advice (no holds ) whether  or not  you use  it ...is all up to you,

She doesn't blow butterflies....but you  will  get  THE BEST from  her.

I apologize  for this lenghthy post  but   YES    Dept of Managed Health Care( DMHC)  has OVERTURNED  KAISER!!!!  with that said  don't give up or lag on your health issues..  GO  FOR IT  & STAY POSITIVE  THAT IT WILL HAPPEN ...  it did  for me.

To  Crazy(Chris Michaels)   Gina , Lori, Val , EN ,Jenn(s)  OTI (my buddy) Lawgurl, Tracie(cuteheels) Red, Kimberley , Pretty Dove   Vitalady, Kayla, Hayley,  Lisa,Tom(levitown) Brok, Georgina, Nina , Asia, Mariana,Colene   ok  ok  all that have  encouraged me to have faith and for their advice when i needed it and for your future help!!! I know  can  count on ya'all and  if i did not mention  you it is not my intent(sp).. my mind is still in  SHOCK!!! I am going to have my DS!!!

Rose, congratulations, and I'm so happy for you. You worked hard on your appeal and you won.
Anyone considering wls in CA should know that you are NOT limited to the operations your insurer prefers. If you want the duodenal switch and it isn't "offered", you can appeal to the DMHC (dept. of managed health care) with a good chance of overturning your insurer's denial. Read on all the different forums and learn about all the options before making this huge decision.
