I am 2 years out and 130lbs down.  I am going to start IVF in August.  What will happen, besides gain baby weight, to my weight loss sucess?  I should come back down to my current weight right?

Hi Holly,

I don't have any answers for you as I have not been pregnant after surgery nor do I expect to be. You may get better answers from the pregnancy board as these ladies have "been there." Also, may not hurt to ask your surgeon..... Here's the link to the pregos board.

Is there a reason you have to go IVF?  Just wondering as the weight loss does tend to increase fertility.  I had gone through 8 years of failed fertility treatments and was going to have to do IVF but had WLS & was able to get pregnant 2x on my own.  Just curious.  Anyway the weight will come back off but many times you have to work for it.  I'd gained 30lb with my 1st and lost it in a year and then I gained 28lb with my 2nd and still have 21lb to get to goal (16lb to get back to pre prego weight).

Good luck!

Im going to be a Surrogate for a close friend who just lost his twins.  The first time I was a surrogate I had triplets and gained 60lbs then had the bypass and lost all the weight.  I just want to make sure that all this work for the past 2 years have not gone to waist.  I think as long as I watch what I eat and continue to use my "tool" and work out, everything should be baby weight and it should come off quick.  HOPEFULLY

Back in the day ...when I was having babies, we were told and it was stressed highly not to gain more than 25 pounds, period! And I personally, think that is still good advise. I see WAY too may young woman gain 50,60,70 pound during their pregnancies which in my considered opinion, is just plan dangerous and stupid when it comes to making for easier delivery...in my 3 I didn't have a labor more than 3 hours and had healthy, normal babies, with easy deliveries. But I also think that if everyone had it as easy as I did there would be way toooooooo many babies coming into this world.
Yes, sorry to say I am very opinionated on this subject but it is on very near and dear to my heart for many reasons.
I do want to say I think it is wonderful what you are doing.

GOOD LUCK
