sort of a newbie

Hi, my name is Kim.  I know there is a Kim in Fontana here so I will go by Kim in the Valley if that is alright.

I have been lurking for a couple weeks and thought I would join in.  I am having my surgery (gastric bypass) on May 7.  I am getting excited.  I went to a seminar and a support group meeting at the hospital last night.  I learned alot.  It seems like the more I learn, the more at ease I am about having this surgery.

I am glad to be here.  You all seem very supportive of each other.

My mom had this surgery 30 years ago.  She has done very well and kept the weight off.  It amazes me how she went through all of this without support groups to get information and lean on.
