there seems to be alot of people using OH as free advertising. I am curious if you're paying for the ads or using the site for free ads ?
I happen to be in marketing and while I can appreciate the guerilla marketing approach theres somehting shady about too. If you're not trading out or paying shouldn't you at least give them free publicity in return

Hi again..
We did an episode on the OH Convention and we often send people over to these forums from our forums because frankly this place is HUGE with lots more info and experiences.
As a little background so you don't think I am trying to pull a fast one and taking advantage of the whole free forum thing.
I joined OH in '03.. For the next two years I volunteered for OH in many areas pretty much 30 - 40 hours a week. I did photo volunteering, HTML volunteering.. I was a mod on pretty much all of the boards.. I worked on the OH event committee and helped put together the very first OH convention in Anaheim. Then went on to work on several more events and helped put together formatting for the first OH support groups. I got A LOT from this site - especially before I had my surgery and definitely in the year after - but I absolutely feel as though I also gave back.
In posting about BTV - A venture that would never have been possible if it hadn't been for this wonderful place AND the people I met here along with the education I received - I definitely don't feel as though I am taking advantage of OH.. (But if Eric feels I am - he can definitely track me down to chat about it.)
We don't sell anything.. we don't charge for our podcasts and our sponsors are the same sponsors they have here on OH.. So I guess I don't see the reason for concern. but again.. if OH would like to discuss then I am not hard to find. :-)
