Hello all my Cali Friend,

We just got back from our Cruise to Cabo, Mazatlan, and Puerto Valletta and we managed to escape the swine flu so far.  We had a wonderful time and didn't want to come back home.
But it is work a usual  I couldn't paste any pictures so I uploaded them to my profile.  Take a look.
Hugs,
Gina

Loved your photos!  We go on the same cruise this Sunday!!!!!  I have a few questions.  Did you go on any of the optional excursions?  If so, which.  We signed up for the cabo catamaran trip (looks like you took it too), in Mazatlan a tour including lunch and swimming at a hotel resort, in Puerto Vallarta a show and tour with lunch.

Most important question I have is how far is the pier or tender to the center of things in each city?  I use an electric mobility scooter and am wondering how far it will be if they don't have an accessable van.  We are booked on Mariner of the Seas.

Many thanks!!!!!

Debbi

I didn't go on any excursions booked from the ship.  In Cabo we took a boat taxi to see some sights and then rented jet ski's.  In cabo when you get off the tender there is a shopping area right there, but it is probably a couple of miles to the main area where cabo wabo is and other popular places.  I went on this cruise for a conference with my work and in Mazatlan we didn't get to see tourist stuff and we had a special field trip in the poor areas.  In Puerto Vallarta we rented a van tour which took us to the church, The tropical forest area, a tequila factory and then to the shopping area.  The main part of town there is about 3-4 miles from the ship.

We also were on the Mariner of the Seas.  We had a blast.

You may want to check but the last I heard they weren't letting any one off the ship at the ports because of the flu.

Great info.  Thank you so very much.  All cruise lines have changed their itinerares!  Ours now goes to San Francisco, Victoria B.C. Canada and Seattle.  I'm not thrilled because it looks like rain there most of the week, ughhhhhhhhhhh.  I'm going to call Royal Caribbean this morning to see if we can postpone the trip to maybe September.  Our friend who is going with us was really looking forward to Mexico as she has never been.  We have both been to SF, Victoria and Seattle before and although nice, the weather this time of year is ifffffy.

Glad you had a blast.  If we can postpone, that's what we will do.  How did you find the water taxi and the van tour on your own, or are the all easy to find once you dock?  I may need to pick your brain later if that's OK.

Many thanks!

Cheers,
Debbi

In cabo you are bombarded with people wanting you to take the water taxi's as soon as you get of the ship.

In Puerto Vallarta the van tours were also when you got off the ship.  We had a very nice man approach us and explained his tour.  There was something about him.  They treated us great and the tour was great.  we got to see a lot.  It cost 25.00 each and was about 5 hours.  The water Taxi's in Cabo were 10.00.

You can pick my brain anytime.

You just saved us a ton of money!  It's very expensive to book through the cruise line, but I need to have my scooter with us and they said their vendors vans could accommodate it.

Will definitely take you up on the offer to pick your brain when we can finally get to Mexico.  I hope by Sept. they can have this flu tamed.

Cheers,
Debbi

Hi stranger.  It's been a long time.  Hope you and Olivia and family are doing well.  Is chemo over, I hope?

Normally we would come up to see mom for Mothers Day, but I can't drive too far.  I fell and broke my arm in 4 places March 8th.  It just got out of a sling and I have limited range of motion, so I don't want to chance a long drive yet.  Eric developed severe bursitis in his left elbow and it on meds for that, ughhhhhhhh.

Hope you have found a good day program for Ms. Olivia for after graduation.  There have been sooooooo many budget cuts for the disabled programs.  It's so sad that they are hitting the disabled community so hard.

Whenever we can get up there I'll contact you!

Cheers,
Debbi

Gina,

Welcome back and SO glad you enjoyed your cruise.  One of my co-workers left out of SF on Princess on Monday for Mexico.  I cruised the Mexican Riveira on Royal Carribbesan and I loved it.  Can't wait to go back.

Welcome home and sure hope you can join us on Sat for the Nor Cal lunch.

Hugs,
Barb
