My husband and are due to go on the same cruise on May 10Th.  They are not docking in any Mexican ports at all until May 4 with my cruise line. I was told all of them are staying away.

Bummer.  Alot of money spent to visit San Diego and Catalina.

I wanted to go to a warm beach area.  Hey if figures last cruise I went on was 16yrs ago and got stuck in a hurricane in the Bahamas.
I can look at it in a good way cause two days after returning I go in for my WLS.

Next year I am going to Hawaii for vacation for get it going out of the states.

Glade you had a wonderful time and I am going to check your pics out.

Call the cruise line and ask about compensation and rebooking options.  They offered us a great deal to stay with the revised itinerary for this Sunday, and if it weren't for the weather predictions, we'd probably go.  Still may go.

Cheers,
Debbi

Do you mind me asking what your revised itinerary is?  And which cruise line you are going with?

My husband would have a very hard time getting off work the rest of the year.  The and he says he does not mind stopping at San Diego and Catalina. Alot of money to float around but we need some kind of vacation.  I just do not want to doc in SF cause it is too cold there. And near where we live.

I am just interested in staying healthy cause my WLS is two days after we return.  The 2ND week of our vacation so my guy can help take care of me.

We are cruising on Carnivals Splendor, they are going to call us tomorrow morning or afternoon to let us know what is up.  I have my preop appt with my surgeon tomorrow morning. So that excites me.  ALot going on.

Have a good post and day

DNAF,

Sorry I didn't scroll up. I would have seen your new itinerary .  I just moved to california from the Pacific North west.   I love it up there but I wanted warm beach water.  My husband would still  go cause our ship has a dome that can close over the pool and deck area.

Thanks anyway.

Here's the web page from Royal Caribbean with the changes:

http://www.royalcaribbean.com/beforeyouboard/itineraryUpdate s.do!

They offered us $450 on board credit and $350 towards a future cruise, so we may still go.  But I hate the thought of a week of rain even tough the ship is great.

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!  You will definitely love Hawaii!

Cheers,
Debbi

We have been on a cruise that stopped in San Diego and Catalina and had a great time too.  In San Diego the ship docks almost in the heart of things.  We took the red trolly tour that you pick up right in front of the ship and it hits all the major sights and you can get on and off all day.  We also enjoed Catalina and it was very pretty.  I agree, lots of $ not to go to Mexco, but as I suggested, call your cruise line and ask about compensation!!!!

Cheers,
Debbi

Carnival Splendor out on May 10Th has not made a decision on where they dock yet.  The May 4Th is going to the Pacific Northwest and Canada  as well.  They have so many ships to change so it is taking awhile to get ours decided.

I did have an agent I called say they are considering the Hawaii as well.  I could go for that. My grand kids are on the big island. Even if it were for a two days docking I would love that. Plus they most likely will offer on board credit too.  They are deciding right now.

Waiting for an update from twitter from Carnival.  Will  get a call tomorrow to work the deal.
Thanks for sharing.
