Okay I have been doing the 800 calorie liquid diet since last Wednesday. I lost 5lbs. I have not cheated, I have not skipped a meal, I have been drinking 100 oz of water a everyday and yet today I have gained a pound. How can that be? Discouraged is an understatement. It makes me want to eat something.  Nothing big just something like a chicken salad or a sandwich from subway.Surgery is a week from tomorrow. HELP!!

Hi Lisa, Don't get soo down on yourself. It could be that you drank something that had salt in it or it could just be that-time-of-the-month hormone stuff. We all go a bit up and down, so no freakin out on us. Ya Hear? Just stick to your plan and in a couple of days you will drop the pound and more. Of this I am sure!

Hi Lisa,
Are you having your surgery done in Fresno? Is Dr. Higa or Boone your surgeon? Best of luck !

Don't flip yourself out. Like you said you haven't cheated and been following the plan religiously a one pound gain can be any number of things. If you exercised yesterday your muscles could be storing glycogen, if you had some extra sodium you could have a little extra water, TTOTM is a factor even ovulating can add a slight increase in weight. You are doing great, believe in yourself.
I, like you weigh in everyday and have for more than 5 years so I am used to the day to day variations. Just keep up the good work and you'll be great!!

Lisa,

Don't freak out about it, keep on doing what you're doing.  You may loose two lbs tomorrow.   I can't scold you for weighing every day because I do, but I don't freak when it shows a gain (I had surgery in Jan.)  I just count the weight loss on Wed. and that the day that counts and I know when I'm doing what I am supposed to do, I will loose even if I do stay the same one week.

Keep your chin up, we're keeping the losers bench warm for you!

Hugs,
Barb

Just remember:  water weighs about 8.3 lbs per gallon.  You could be retaining a quart of water to make the 2 lbs.  Believe me, it will go away.

Good luck, and don't freak out!

Thanks, you do too!

We met at the OH gathering in 2005, at a restaurant in Concord, I think.  You had just had your surgery on your arms.  I think you've gotten even better since then!

I sure hope all you ladies are right. I am sure I am freaking out for nothing. I still am up a pound but I've calmed down some. Still not real happy but Im sure it will pass. Dieting never works for me.
