With my surgery being tomorrow, I was wondering if some of you good folks could enlighten me on your "Surgery Day" experiences and how hospital stay turned out. Good, bad, or indifferent...

Mike,

A good many of the folks who have had surgery have posted on their blogs about their surgery days.  If you click on their screen name, it will bring you right to their blogs, including mine.

Here's wishing you an uneventful surgery and speedy recovery.  We'll be saving you a nice warm spot on the losers bench.

Mike, Here is wishing you the very best and an uneventful surgery.
I had  a very easy time of it, my surgery went "text book" my pain was minimal and recovery time was speedy. I am 8 1/2 months out ,lost 87 pounds and more energy than I know what to do with...well not really cause I can always find something to do!!
Just remember we are all different and some have a low pain tolerance others high...some lose fast some slow. So the one word of advise I will give you is don't compare yourself with others.
I have had sooo many surgeries this was is a walk in the park (I was going to say a piece of cake but...never mind LOL) laproscopic is so much easier than open surgeries.

GOOD LUCK
HUGS

Hey Mike
Here I go again, a dime short and a day late....but Congrats on your surgery!  All of us are different, so it wouldn't do any good to compare ^_6.  Wishing you a speedy recovery, an uneventful surgery....see ya on the Loser's Bench!

Looks like I am late too, Mike.  Yes I have seen different results happen out of the same surgical office, completed on the same day.  So you truly can't judge what happens to you, based on other's.  However, I can report that I was blessed with a great surgery, minimal pain, some gassy discomfort (went away after a few days) and felt good enough to walk as soon as they requested and was able/willing to walk even more than that.

I am just over a month out, 3/25, and I am feeling fantastic.  Better than I have in almost 3 years.  I was tentative prior to surgery, but now I wonder what in God's green earth made me wait.  I look forward to sitting beside you on the loser's bench and please keep in touch, so I know how your progressing.

Hi Mike,

Good Luck on your surgery tomorrow. I am sure you will do well. I had a good hospital stay, but as everyone else said. Everyone is different, pain tolerance ect.....  Just make sure you walk, walk, walk.  Keep us posted on how you make out. See you on the loser bench.

Hey Everyone,

I just now got back on my laptop and read all of the great replies to my post. You guys are great and I sure do appreciate the support.

I had surgery on Monday and my doctor told me everything went better than he expected. There were no complications at all.

The hospital staff was much better than I had anticipated. I knew they were care-givers, but the Alvarado staff was phenomenal.

I'm home now and doing fine, just a little pain from the incisions.

Will post again soon. Everyone have a great weekend.

 Mike
