My Saturday

No wind here but it rained cats and dogs here yesterday!!!!! And drizzled all day today. Didn't do the Native Daughter Yard sale or the Fireman's Muster or the parade... the weather was just too nasty... But I, along with the help of the "Handy Kid Next Door" we managed to get all but one side of the frame work, and one window installed in The Room!! I am so excited to have made so much progress!!! Grant (handy kid) is 16 years old and an old soul for sure! Last Summer Mom and I gave him an old travel trailer in good shape but as I said...old. Well, ever since then he refuses to except any money for all the work he does around here for us.When I told him that he was going to have to start letting us pay him for his work he said, " How can I take money from you when you gave me a house?!"Now how sweet is that?? Also, he was just voted Vice President of the FFA (our local chapter). Oh, the reason we gave him the travel trailer is because his Mom and Dad are on a very limited income and they along with his severely Bi-Polar older sister live in a very small 2 bedroom house...So, this gave him his own space. And a place to lock his things up were is sister can't mess them up. I love her to death but she isn't well and she can be a real handful at times.
Yesterday I bought a nail gun...Whooo-hoo another power tool!! And when Grant saw it his eyes lite up like it was Christmas...LOL Kid after my own heart. We both agree that Hardware Stores are much more fun and interesting than a Mall anytime!!!

Have a great Day all.

Always nice having someone handy around.

My DH always tells people how lucky he is because his Wife (me of course) would rather be in the hardware store, Electronics store or game store over anywhere else. LOL

congrats on the progress you're making on "the room"

Joy,

We sure did miss you but sounds like you were safer and much more productive at home.  So glad you've found a nice young and appreciative man to help you with "the room".  How nice of you both to recognize and provide him with his own space.

Can't wait to meet you one of these days.

Hugs,
Barb

Grant has lived next door all  his life. And when he was a little kid he was just plan weird...Not saying that to be mean at all, it was just the way he was raised. His Dad is the world's biggest worriers I have ever known in my life, I think. But I just adore Grant and his family. His Mother is a dear, sweet, gorgeous, woman but is schizophrenic and from time to time has to have her meds adjusted. So Grants home life can be very stressful to say the least.
Barb, I look forward to meeting you as well. And I am sure we will soon.
