Does anyone know when the dates are for the pre-op support group classes I need to take before my surgery.  I am brand new and have not seen my primary yet but would love to start attending classes so I can get the ball rolling.  Yes I am really wanting this help???

Hi, I went through the Southern Callifornia Kaiser/Options Program which is a 26 week program,  Kaiser requires you to attend a weekly class (90 minutes in length), weigh in each week, homework and class work and etc.  Do you have the number of the coordinator in San Diego?  If not, I can email you the Options Contact person here in Orange County and she can help you get the ball rolling.

It sure is good C'ING LESS OF ME!

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
& all are different colors....but they

ALL exist very nicely in the same box.

Terry,
I would love the number for the san diego coordinator.  I just want to be able to talk to the right people without having to go through hoops to get started where I need to be.  Thank you

I had to be reffered by my primary care doctor for the classes. At kaiser Fontana there is now a 5 month waiting list but the classes are only 20 weeks. They were shortened just recently. I havent started my classes yet but should be able to start within a month. I only had a 3 month waiting list.

Hope this helps :-)

You have to get refered by your primary. Then you see the people at Positive Choice, then they tell you when/if you can get into the classes. So no starting classes until Kaiser says so.

You have to be approved for surgery by Kaiser before your scheduled for any classes. It all takes time. Depending on the demand for surgery, the wait may vary with your particular Kaiser area. DAVE

Here is San Diego.  Went to my primary finally and he said you do not need referral to positive choice can just go on your own.  All the surgery for weightloss is out of his hands.  So called them they said they would send me a package to fill out then I have to go to a free seminar to start the process.  I am finally on the road
Thank you to all
