Hugh WOW Moments this Mother's Day!
Kids made Mother's Day cards at school. Both said something about me being skinny! I just had to laugh but it got me thinking that I am glad they never sent me one that said "Mom, thanks for being hugh as a house!"
I wore SHORTS and not pants to the soccer games yesterday. I wore a size 22 just a year ago and proudly wore a size 2 (yes a single digit without another number attached) yesterday!! They were just above the knee so they hid the thigh skin but felt totally comfortable and not even self conscious. The 100 degree heat didnt even bother me! The other team moms who knew me last year said they can't believe its me! Two of them didn't even recognize me and thought the coach got a new wife or a girl friend! Too funny! I also wasn't out of breath walking across the fields hauling the ice chest and chairs. Even had to move fields. Could have run with the kids if needed. It felt soooo good to know I can wear shorts and won't die this summer in the heat.
Next big WOW moment.... I wore my new Roxy size 1 board shorts in the pool yesterday and today. Last year I wore a tent sized swim dress and put the cover up on as soon as I got out of the pool. Spent both afternoons in my cute shorts and tankini top. I even have a tan! Didn't feel self conscious if the neighbors saw me by the pool. Even the "Barbie" next store with the nice looking bolt ons commented on how great I looked! I have a new appreciation for her "recent purchase" she is sporting that sit where they should. :)
Oh, yeah, and my kids bought me three new sets of pajamas for Mother's Day in a size SMALL!!!! Way too cute and stuff that I would never consider wearing before. Very bright and girlie (pinks) and very form fitting. Really shows off how small I am. Getting so many comments about how I look even more like my Mom now that I have lost the weight. And my Mom is "petite" and "tiny" in my eyes and now that we are about the same weight. I get the y"ou are so tiny "comments alot now. Who would have thought.... definitely not me. Tiny was only used to describe my pinky before! Even got called "tiny" from one of my high school kids Friday afternoon.
Hubby got me an exercise gym thingy for the garage so I can start toning. I must say I've got some serious muscle tone going on the arms. and I haven't worked out at all. Makes some at our support group angry that I have lots the weight without exercise (Sorry Shary and Rhonda, love ya, keep up the hard work!) I always had upper body strength but want to tone up whats under the skin so the skin won't look so bad. Since we know I hate exercise we will see how that goes . I see the hubby and kids using it more than me. Shhh. We won't tell them that.
What a different a year makes!! I would have an RNY every day for a month if it made me feel as good as I did this weekend. It so motivated me that I actually took time today to upload my 1 year pictures!
