nesting???

My surgery will be one week from today and I am nervous! I have been working non-stop organizing things at work and now here at home. Cleaning closets, scrubbing behind things, sorting out drawers and it has dawned on me....I have been hit by the "nesting" instinct just like when I was in the last days of my pregnancies! Back in those days (my baby is 22), I bustled around cleaning and organizing and arranging for the new baby.

NOW I am getting my world ready for a new life, only this time it is MY life that is going to seem brand new in many ways! Crazy, eh? Anybody else do this too?

Cindy,

Oh yes, I did the same thing.  My surgery was right after Christmas, so I couldn't wait to get the decorations put away and my closets cleaned etc.  You are going to do great and we're here to help along the way!

Hugs,
Barb

I too have felt that today. My surgery is only 10 days away and I feel that there is so much to do before it actually happens.  After dinner tonight I felt myself doing just a little extra cleaning.

Well, if I clean much more there will be nothing to clean for the weekend and then how will I get through the weekend? LOL

Congrats on your upcoming surgery, exciting times, right?

I am happy, nervous, excited, wanting to cry all rolled into one. I have never been like this before. I can only imgaine how I will be the day of the surgery. As I sit at work all I can think about is what needs to be done before I go. I need to make sure that hubby k nows what to do, like he has never handled the kids by himself before  He even told me last night that I need to do this more often, I hate cleaning and he knows it.   I will be thinking of you in the upcoming days. Good luck.

Thanks, Jenn..I can always count on you to make me smile!

I am going to have a pedicure and massage this week to get myself ready to do this. As far as wearing myself out, it seems to help me sleep!

As far as help, I do need some expert advice. :) I need advice on where to get a good chewable calcium supplement. Is there somewhere I can get it locally or do I have to order it through the Internet?

If you are on medications, are you supposed to get your PCP to order them in liquid form for you do does the surgeon do that?

Did you wear the hospital gowns or take your own stuff?

Anything special I should ask the staff when I go for my pre-op on Thursday?

Also, can you PM me your phone number again?  I had it and I lost it.

Thanks for everything, Jenn! You are SO appreciated!

Hopefully you will get this before you leave.. I am sorry I have been busy, and I haven't been on the computer much.

I sure hope you were able to get your pampering in before tomorrows important day.

Chewable Calcium. This changes from person, to person, but I got the Celebrate ones.. I can send you some to try if you would like to try them. Or there is Bariatric Advantage too, they are ok.  But if you need something ASAP, I am sure GNC, the Vitamin Shoppe have some that you can use in the mean time.

My surgeon just told me to take them in their pill form. He wasn't at all concerned about that, so I would talk to your surgeon.

I wore comfy clothes in, but they imediately put you in a gown, so that is not a problem. Make sure you have something comfy to wear home as you don't want anything rubbing on your incisions.

As far as asking any questions, I guess I missed helping you on that one..

I am so excited for you hun.. What hospital are you going to? Maybe I could get up there to see you.  Let me know..

You are so very welcome hun.. It is my pleasure..

Hugs,
Jenn

Hi Cindy
My first reaction to your post was: Come to MY house!!  I don't have time to clean!! ROTFL  Seriously, you will do great!  Just don't wear yourself out before surgery....you need to be rested so your body can quickly heal.  Looking forward to moving on down on the Loser's Bench for ya!
