I had rny on May 6th. Can I go swimming? Nothing major, just going to my sis's house to hang out and wanna know if I can get in the pool. Let me know what you think. Thanks

I forgot to mention that is going to be 103-105 here this weekend. So It's going to be miserable

I would think it would be a little to soon too go swimming, but you should check with your surgeon, call his office...it never hurts to ask!!

Maybe you can just put your legs in...

Good luck and hope you stay cool!!!

I agree with Michele! You should call your surgeons office, just to make sure. If nothing else maybe you could just stick your feet in the water?

Good Luck!

My Surgeon said I could go sky diving the next day after my RNY if my heart so desired.  No restrictions at all.  But I would call your doctor and ask first to be on the safe side.

Have a great time this weekend.

Don't risk it!!  I know it hard when your feeling good, but it only takes a minute to start feeling really bad again and then possibly end up in surgery again.
Sit in the pool, walk in the pool, but don't swim in the pool.
Even my DR in Minnesota told me no swimming. It's going to be in the 50's-60's here this weekend.  Not like I would go swimming, but it must not be a good thing if they all tell you the same thing no matter what the climate.
Have a nice weekend.
