Over the last week, I've had a dull, persistant pain centered at about my "pouch" area (just below center of ribs)...most noticable after swallowing anything, including liquids.
There's no other symptoms...it doesn't feel like a "foamies" blockage or anything i've had before, and i haven't done or eaten anything out of my "norm"...so what gives?...anyone had something similar?
I'm not in any major pain...just moderately annoyed...I'm looking at a five day weekend and don't want to spend any portion of it sitting around the doctor's office...
thanksamillion!

Did you have your gallbladder out during your WLS?
It could be an ulcer too. Try taking some Pepcid and see if it works. I would go to the dr just in case. I had an ulcer that burst a couple of years ago and it was not fun. Emergency surgery and a nice scar from having it done open. Better to be safe than sorry.
Good luck.

I did not have my gallbladder removed...it's still there, being a freeloader...
"ulcer" description seems to fit...just no severe symptoms yet...I think I will be seeing the doc this weekend...ugh
Thanks so much!

Becca,
I have the same symptoms and I had an ultrasound down last Friday and I have gallstones, so I have to see my surgeon hopefully next week. I didn't have my gallbladder removed when I had my RNY either...but now they are going to have to remove it.
Yes, go see the doctor and get it checked out...
Good luck!!!

I only get the punched in the gut feeling when something gets stuck. I am sorry I cannot be of more help, but I think you should at least call the doc!
I hope you feel better soon!

becca,
I'm voting gall bladder. I had a similar pain when mine decided to stop working correctly. The good news is that it's a relatively "easy" surgery compared to the RNY. The surgeon went through the same incisions as my RNY and I was home within a day, up and about within about 2 days. If it is the gall bladder, your pain/discomfort will likely be gone right away after they take it out, so that's one positive aspect.
As others have said, it could also be an ulcer issue. You're doing the right thing by going to to doc and having him/her take a look. I hope whatever it is, that you get some answers and start feeling better.
Just a side note: I'm a loooong time lurker (trying to get more involved on the boards), and I just have to comment: you look soooo great! I've "seen" you on the boards for a long time and you look absolutely beautiful! Anyway, best of luck to you :)
