Good TGIF Morning Gang!!

Happy TGIF Gang and this marks the unofficial being of summer weekend for all of us!

It is really hard to believe that is Memorial Day Weekend....wow many of us teachers are counting the days until school is out and keep us all in your thoughts because when we return after this weekend....it is some of the toughest days at school until that magical day when the bell rings...and all the kids go rushing out the doors in glee looking forward the days ahead of lounging and doing just about nothing!!!

Last night I went to the big district celebration for Teacher of the Year. It was HUGE. They held at the Fantasy Springs Casino which was cool, but also intimidating. I had lots of walking to do. I got to see lots of people I had not seen for a while because we all get stuck in our ruts and do not get around much at other sites and events.

It was awesome for me to have my grandchildren there also even though they had no idea of what was going on. Ava worked the room like there was no tomorrow. I walked her around to keep her amused...she was a show stealer for sure. Hunter was very tired and cranky....but what was really cool a number of people there know Hunter's mom because they taught her and her brothers. Here is a pic of me and my family:

I was terribly tired when I got home because this was the most activity since I have had surgery which is 2 weeks ago today. I am really proud of myself of how well I am doing. I said to my collegues...amazing what makeup can do LOL!

So I know you all have gobs of plans this weekend. Thing that stands out to me:

Lena aka Lola will be running the LA Marathon along with others who are participants of OH...maybe not regulars....but nevertheless deserve the acknowledgement. Lena I am so so proud of you and will be looking for updates!

Rhonda I know you are going to have a rough one today...but I know you will handle it fine. People are really going to be shocked when they see you too. Bask in it girl and realize that you have come a long ways....I will be thinking of you! BTW you do not have to wear black...it is a celebration of life.

Jean how did the babysitting go yesterday...good I am sure!

Chris go and recheck the WWW because I think that there were people who added on since you collected the info. And no do not add me to the total because I feel that it would be cheating to add those 7 extra pounds over the surgery weight because I had put some on. Another few more pounds and then I will add to the total again! How did the clearance thing go with your son?

LuLu take it easy and make sure if you veg out at the pool to use plenty of sunscreen!!! They said on a TV show yesterday morning that the appropriate amount to apply at a time is a shot glass full and then reapply regularly if you are going to stay out!

Stacie that sucks that they treat the employees so bad where you work. I know you have to put up and shut up especially in this economy, but it would be nice to at least be valued some! I hope you get to relax this weekend nevertheless!

Monica I am sure you are going to do fine on your tests. I admire you working so hard and I know how hard it is to work, have a family and have some sort of life!

Linda...I know you are scheduled for your procedure today....I along with the rest of us are all rooting for you....you have had it tough since you had wls, but maybe after this (crossing everything) that you are going to be fine now!

Delores....I hope you have a great little mini vacation...how nice it is to celebrate your new lifestyle!

Josie today is a new day like you said and I hope that you go around that insulin problem yesterday with the protien powder. We all know being prepared is the best thing!

Barb I am really sorry to hear about your uncle's passing....I know it is hard to lose all your family. I have one family member from my dads side of the family left. He is coming here this summer and I have not seen him in 19 years and that was the 1st time I had met him too. Going to be a bit weird....he and I are the same age.

Michele I am glad the doctors are going to get you repaired and get that icky gallbladder out of you! I was lucky going into surgery because I had had mine out when I was 20! You will get to feeling better as soon as they get that nasty thing out of you! How did your granddaughter handle those shots?

Terry I am glad you get a "me" weekend...you need to do that because you lose sight of who is important!!! I know it is hard, but you deserve to take care of you! Enjoy your down time!

Javier welcome to the CA boards and glad you felt comfortable jumping into our morning posts! Stick some velcro on the seat of your pants and stick around...we love living through the newbies!

Kim I am so jealous you get to go on a cruise, but I know you are going to have a much deserved awesome time!!!!

Dawn schucks to you not winning the chili cook off...I am sure it was delicious!!! YUM I love chili...you should share your recipe!

Julie how do you think your philosophy final went? You have a great weekend planned ahead of you...will look forward to hearing about all the activities!!!

Oh Naomi you are going to have a blast seeing Smokey!!! OMG did we grow up on his music or what? Have loads of fun!!!

Hey Nancy...how cool is that you are going to a Jazz Festival....they are awesome eh? What part of the foothills are you going to? Oh and the boss thing...we all know they could not do it without us no matter what!!! Have a fun weekend!

MoMo...think you are going to be able to slow down enough to come down here? Have a drink of wine on the plane to get yourself in relax mode!

Becky...hang in there girl....I know it seems like forever until the 30th of next month, but remember what you said...it is in the big maker in the skies hands! Congratulations on your 2 year surgeriversary...hard to believe that 2 years have gone by...you have done GREAT!!!

Well I know I missed a lot of you in the shout out...I am really brain dead...okay drugged out....I woke because of the pain....I really did over do it...and you would think that my collegues knowing that I have been out would not have knocked me around like they did last night...oh well it was worth it!

I hope you all have a safe and sane weekend....tell us your plans too....and remember to suck down tha****er...it is going to be a warm one for sure in the south land....but we all need to remember that we need to hydrate our bodies all the time!!!! You are cared about!

PEACE OUT!!! Cowgirl

Goodmorning Janine and Cali Guys and Gals,

I posted a long post last night but I guess it went into cyber space or something like that.  I guess it just was not meant to be.  Nope I just checked and I guess I some how wrote over the Thursday morning post.  These darn comuters!  Oh well.  I did decide what I am going to wear and it will be all black.  I don't know about the hat. What I think I will do is take the hat and if I see others wearing a hat I will wear one.  There is going to be a lot of people at the memorial service today.  People are flying in from all over the world to support my friend.  They are expecting thousands.  I am nervous about today as I am going to see people I have not seen in years and years. People who have only known me as a huge person.  So I am a bit nervous about that.  Well I better get the children up and getting ready for school.  Everyone have a wonderful long weekend and really enjoy yourselfs.

Thanks so much Barb, don't work too hard this weekend though.  Enjoy and stop to just be.  Enjoy your fun day with the band too.  By the way what instrument do you play?  I forgot to ask, I think I knew but with this old mind of mine I can't even remember my own name half the time.  lol.  Talk soon.

Rhonda

Rhonda,

I hope the day went ok for you, you were on my mind and in my prayers.  Graduation was fun to play at but it was too cold.  Thank goodness I brought a 2nd sweater, I sure needed it.  I play a tenor saxophone.  Fun, fun, fun.

Here is a link to a pic of our Symphonic Band, you can't see me really well, but I'm there:

Sorry I didn't get a chance to call you yesterday honey!!! I'm off today so if you feel up to it when you get home, call me.
You are so in my thoughts and prayers today and prayers were said last night for the family of the girl, how tragic for sure!!! And enjoy all the well deserved attention you are going to get, you should be proud of how far you've come and I know people are going to be gushing over you. That's ok, it gives them something positive in a not positive atmosphere!!!
biggest huggs and can't wait for next weekend!!!!  love you, Becky

Morning Janine and Cali . .. what a GREAT picture (well both of them) Janine . . . Thanks so much for sharing ... I'm sure you did over do it . . . but man your happy smile couldn't be more shiney!

ok . . . I can just say 101
to this group . . . and you will all know what I mean . . . OMG . . . I can't believe it.  It wasn't as fast as the rest of you guys - but I'm just short of 18 months out and I couldn't be happier!  I was hoping to just hit the 100 mark today and it skipped right over it!  Wahoo!!!  Where do we get those nifty  century cards . . . I wanna print it out and hang it by my desk!

Everyone have a great day and weekend.  We close at 3 today - so I can nurse my cold so I can work the other job the next two days .  . . but right now I'm just floating on air!  I'll survive!

Happy Hugs
Chris
