Good Morning Janine and Cali Friends,

Happy TGIF and a 3 day weekend to boot.  Janine, love the pics of you and your beautiful family and wow you look maaavvvvaaalllooouuusss!  Hope you have a chance to take it easy and bask in your accomplishments.

Thanks for the nice shout out and it's tough to loose the last of the aunts and uncles, since my parents and grandparents have all gone.  I am very close to all of my cousins though and Ron's family has adopted me as their own as well, so I am surely feeling the love.

Ron's Dad is back in the hospital with a UTI and major weakness.  Poor dear.  I know his big goal was to see Ron graduate and he was there and enjoyed.  I hope we can get something set up where my mother-in-law gets some help.  They do have long term care insurance through CalPers, so I called them yesterday and they will be sending information out.  I know she doesn't want to put him in assisted living and she is way too independent and active but it may come down to that as she just cant keep picking him up with her bad back.

On a good note, it's a 3 day weekend and I think we're going to work on the yards and get ready for the party.  We have a hot tub in a gazebo that we use mostly for storage in the winter, so we'll spruce that up and probably empty the hot tub since we never use it, was here when we  bought the house and just keeps on using energy.  It's a nice one, but way too far from the house and I don't care much for ho****er unless I'm taking a shower!

Well, off to work and then I play for graduation at the Jr College with the band that I play in tonight.  That's always a hoot, we play in sunglasses since we're on the field.  It's fun with the music flying!

Have a wonderful and SAFE holiday weekend all.

Hugs,
Barb

Barb, so sorry to hear about your father in law; I was really hoping he was getting better :-(  How is your MIL holding up? This must be so hard on her; and I know YOU are there with her every step of the way. A betteer DIL she will never find!!

Hope you have fun tonight playing at graduation; I'm still trying to work out the plans to come over for 4th of July...I think that would be sooooo cool to get together!
Take  care of yourself and I'll talk to ya soon

Nancy,

Father in law is just so weak.  Isla is holding up but I can tell it's taking it's toll on her.  She knows that it is just a matter of time before she is unable to keep him at home and will have to put him in a convelescent home, and I think that is tearing her up.  She is afraid he will hate her for it.  All we can do is be there to support her and as I told her last night, she never has to worry about being alone if she doesn't want to.

Graduation was fun tonight but dang it was SO cold.  I had 2 sweaters on and I was still cold.  Ron and I went to Starbucks and got coffee afterwards just to warm up.

I would be honored if you and Lon could come for July 4th.  It will be really fun and good music.  Counting the days til Maui!

Hugs,
Barb

Becky,

Thank you so much I will miss my uncle and his wit and sort of miss the last link with my Dad's siblings.  Kind of ironic that they are all gone.  Funny for 5 siblings to all be gone and really young all before the age of 75 kinda sad.

My father-in-law is so weak and getting frail, I am worried that he continues on this downward spiral.  My poor mother-in-law is beside herself.  I have sent for information on their long term care insurance, so hopefully that will be helpful for her.

I hope we get to work in the backyard this weekend.  Tomorrow we go to San Jose for a visit with my cousins, so that ought ot be fun.

Thanks for your kind words, they are so appreciated.

Hugs,
Barb

Good Holiday Weekend TGIF and BIG Congratulations to you my friend!

Wonderful pictures from your ceremony last night Janine! Hope you don't suffer today from doing that last night! Whether or not you feel your honor was a popularity contest or don't like the politics you do deserve the recognition because you ARE a dedicated and talented teacher and your students will forever be better for having had you as a mentor!

I am thrilled that it is a three day holiday weekend!!!

Tomorrow evening we are having friends over for a pizza and movie night, Sunday will be doing whatever chores and errands we decide to do and we are heading to Disneyland first thing Monday morning to spend the morning with a couple of friends as one of them has a birthday and is doing the Celebrate thing to get in free. That's our weekend plans in a nut shell!

Wishing you and all the Cali Crew a terrific Friday and wonderful Memorial Day weekend Janine!
