OT: need help/info photos storage
Ok, I know the subject line is confusing, and I'm sure the question is going to be also. My daughter is leaving on vacation again tomorrow and is trying to figure out how to get her pictures off her camera and on to some type of stroage without losing them. Once on the storage, be able to view and KNOW they are there before deleting from camera.
She has lost all her pictures in the world twice and doesn't want to do it again. Laptop you say? theirs crashed and took all those pictures, the laptop before that was stolen out of the hotel when at disneyland last year....lost of pictures there also....
I sugested a thumb drive, but too hard to view and make sure they are there....so, I am open to suggestions.....One camera is a Fuji and one is Cybershot.

If something is important to you, make sure you save it on more than one device, such as on a laptop AND on a USB drive (or a CD, or online). Any single digital storage device can fail, but it is unlikely that two will fail at the same time. Also, keep the two (or more) storage devices in separate locations--if you keep your backup USB drive in your laptop case, and it gets stolen (or burns up in a fire), you might as well not have bothered to backup!

Also Snapfi**** is an online storage area where you upload the pics so that you have them.
If you are a "tangible" sort of person (where you like to be able to put your hands on the pics) try an external hard drive.
I learned this the hardway also....computer crashed. It was able to be restored to a certain point, but just DAYS before, I had transferred everything to an external hard drive (which uses a USB port to connect to my computer) and VOILA! saved. Thankfully so as my computer had pics of my mother who passed away unexpectedly last February.
So, I wish your daughter good luck and a safe and happy vacation!!
