I have had a tough time here on the cali boards. Some people have been really rude and judgemental.

I rather help and support and not being knocked down.

Here is the situation. I feel alone in the surgery world. I try not to eat sugars and try to chose sugar free items.  I have had some sugar and feel super guilty after eattting it.

I just don't know why I feel like im such a failure at this.

Hi Jenji, welcome back to the boards. You are not alone, believe me. There are people who go back to eating "regular" sweets after surgery. I admit that I have done it on occasion (special occasions). Don't feel guilty, just pick yourself up and start over. I don't feel guilty after having a "regular" sweet treat, but I'm not making it a habit either. I still stock the house with sugarfree pudding and chocolate. And protein bars are a life saver for me. I get the Pure Protein chocolate peanut butter bars from Walmart. They have 20 grams of protein and taste like a candy bar. They are really yummy. So, don't feel guilty and get back on that horse and start over. It's not too late. And remember, they operated on our stomachs not our heads. Good luck hun. =) xoxoxo

I was an special occasion treat eatter. But i have found myself doing it a little to much. It is only a bite or two. I just dont want it to turn into something much bigger that I cannot control.

I have SF pudding and SF candies but I feel quilty useing them to.

My ONLY BIG huge fall is Starbucks and the Skinny Vanilla Lattes. That is my bad bad downhill.

Thanks for ur advice and I support.

Try the Skinny Vanilla Latte with the SF Vanilla syrup and 2 Slendas...I love it like that. Eating sweets can become a slippery slope. And one we don't need to slide down again. I love the SF Dove Dark Chocolate candy. I think 1 serving is 3 or 4 pieces. I only have 2. I don't want to backslide to where I was prior to surgery, altho my downfall then was ice cream. Now I can't stand the texture of it. It feels like there is a thick layer of cream in my mounth. Yuck! I am here to support you anytime hun. That's what we all should be here for. You can even PM me if you don't want to post on the boards. We are all in this together. =) xoxoxo

BTW, I am starting a support group in my home. I have my OH training in July and it's open to anyone who would like to come. It's all about support, not judgement. =)

Jenji,

I don't know you, but I am so sorry that you feel you were mistreated on the boards. Sometimes words come across differently online than they were probably meant to. I want you to know, that you are not alone. There aret thousands of people out there that feel the same way. Someone once told me that, "you can't fail if you don't quit" stop thinking of yourself as a quitter. You have come this far, why do you want to stop the journey? Don't you want to see the end result? I totally understand the sweet tooth thing, Oh, lordy, do I. You need to get that under control NOW! Before it becomes out of control. Do you go to support meetings through your surgeons office? Or does your medical group offer you a nutritionist or a psychologist that you could speak to? Try & look for healthier snacks, such as carrots or SF jello. Get back on track and maybe start from the beginning. Start from the basics. Remember the basics!  Best of Luck

Honey,

Two things to do if you receive nasty PMs.  First, report the abuse to OH, there is a button for that.  Second, block the sender.

I was drugged and date-raped about a month ago and attacked by several member of the Pink Taco gang on another board about it.  They even followed me to the main board and spewing more abuse on me.  I ended up blocking four of them as, since they were on a moderated board, reporting the abuse.  Most of the affected thread ended up being pulled.

OH takes the issue of abuse on moderated boards and in PMs extremely seriously.
