OT: What are you reading lately?
Ok..How about a topic that tells a bit about ourselves and whats going on in our noggins! I, like hundreds of you, am an avid reader...there is always atleast 3 books with bookmarks in them..lol My current favorite is "The King's Grace" by Anne Easter Smith. It is the story of an unacknowledged illigetimate daughter of King Edward IV, therefore a Plantagenate decendant and royal title holder of the crown of England. It is 1 of 3 in a series taking place at the same time in medieval England. Books about women in history who rise above the odds are my favorite types of readings. Let's hear yours!! I'll update this topic once a month...
Happy reading...may your book marks be flat and your book pages be doggeared.

Hey Kim,
I used to have time to read for pleasure but then I had Sammi. Sammi is now 4 so what we're reading lately is Fancy Nancy, Not Norman, I Like Myself, and a miriad of Disney books like Beauty and the Beast, Jungle Book, Enchanted, Tinkerbell etc. We read every evening as part of our routine.
when I did read for me, I liked Robin Cook books.
have a great weekend!

I, like you, am a prolific reader and these days while I do escort duty I am reading a book a day. I love murder/suspense type books...but it doesn't stop me from whipping out a good Trashy Romance.
Right now I'm just about finished with Cold Truth by Mariah Stewart...FBI, murder, romance...it's got it all. It is book one of a 4 book series. I also have the Soloist on tap for my Book Club meeting.

Are you sure this will work?

I was priviledged to hold a 6 month old baby girl for about 2 hours while she gnawed, gurgled, coo'd, drank a bottle and slept on me..it was terrific!! A WOW moment for me 'cuz I haven't held a baby in over 10 yrs! MoMo got to hold her when she was 'tinky..lol I got the sweet smelling part.

I just finished a book called "Alex and Me" by Irene Pepperberg. It's about the author's work with Alex, an African Grey Parrot - it has a scientific side to it (she was studying the level of language Alex could learn - similar to what was being done with primates in the 90's - just speaking instead of using sign language). It also goes into how their personal bond developed. Overall, it's a great story. Sad in at the end, but inspiring all the same.
Then, of course, since I am a girl - I am about to start the second book of the Twilight series - "New Moon".
