I wanted to let everyone know that I met my fundraising goal for the San Francisco half marathon coming up in July. A great big huge THANK YOU to everyone who made a donation.

Your dollars will go to a worthy cause: YouthRun4Fun - A non-profit that sponsors running programs for at-risk youth from the inner-city.   I only wish that someone had encouraged me to run when I was younger, perhaps I would not have struggled with obesity.

So this year when I run, I will run for the younger, chubbier Monica P. who could not keep up in gym class and was always picked last for everyteam on the playground.

If you're interested in completing the 5k or even the progressive marathon on July 26th in San Francisco it's not too late to sign up. DO IT!!!!  www.runsfm.com

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

I have friends in the city, friends from high school I have not seen in 20 years, and family in the area. I'd like to see as many people as I can. I still don't know who's coming with me from LA.

My tenative plans are to arrive on Friday and return to LA on Monday morning.  I'd love to see OH folks too if its possible, perhaps lunch/coffee on Saturday?!

Monica,

That's so awesome.  You should be proud of yourself on many different levels.

Missed you this morning at the coffee social.
