2nd day back to work, 15 days post-op
I started back to work this week. I have a desk job working in the accounting office for a dealership. I felt great yesterday, but today I am feeling really tired, nauseous, and cant concentrate. Should I be worried thant come back to soon?
Anyone else have any problems when they returned to work?
Thanks
Kellie

When I had my surgery 5 years ago, I went back to work 14 days post op. I was having trouble getting my protein in, was tired, sore (not in pain, just sore), and just plain exhausted. I realized after the first day, that full time was not what I should have been doing. So I went back part
time for the rest of the week and concentrated on finding protein sources that I could tolerate. I was allowed Taco Bell's Pinto Beans with cheese so I started to have them as well.
Once I was able to get enough protein in I felt better and by the next week I was able to handle full time. I'm an accountant, so was also at a desk job. I didn't go out to clients however for another month. I just stayed at the office.
You have to remind yourself, that you just had major surgery. We all seem to forget that fact because it was elective surgery and want to rush back to work. If you are tired this week, then go home early and get some rest. You'll just make it worse for yourself next week if you don't. I just had a hysterectomy on March 23rd and I was out for 4 weeks then came back part time my first week back and then went back full time. Your body needs time to heal from the shock you just put it through as well as the drastic eating changes you are now faced with. You need to give yourself that time to heal.
You'll start feeling better with more energy soon. Just hang in there and go take a nap.
