Hello Everyone!!

It's hard to believe that in just a few days, it will be my 9 year "Re-Birth" Day.  I managed to lose 240 lbs and just recently started gaining a few again.  Just goes to show us all, this procedure is simply a tool provided to us for support.....the real work all begins above the shoulders!!   Please keep this in mind at all times.  No one could have ever prepared me for all of the chages that I would go through after surgery!  I was just elated to finally be approved.   Please let me know if anyone has any questions, I would love to help.  I have also worked in the Bariatric Field for the past 8 years or so as well.

Take care and Keep up the good work

Wow Kim and congratulations. You inspire us to keep up the good life. Maybe you might want to join the Long Beach Coffeehousers sometime soon? I'm not sure that we have anybody that far out!!!

Congrats to you Kim,

Do you ever go to the Long Beach Coffee I would love to meet you.  I don't think it would be too far for you as it is just on the edge of Long Beach and Lakewood.  Hope to see you there one day.

Congratulations on 9 years. I just go on my 9th day tomorrow.  I went out to dinner with my family tonight and knew I was going more for their company than the food, but it was hard watching everybody grab for the bread and looking at all the plates of food come out. I did well. I stuck with my tiny plate and even though every frech fry was screaming my name, I did not indulge.

Has it been worth it? Has weighing less been worth it all? Do you feel different in your body now that it's much smaller.  At 9 days, I am having some doubts and wondering if I made a big mistake.

Thanks!

Msblues,

I am down 125 pounds since my surgery in September and tonight I was shopping at Ross and I got into a size 8 long white summery dress. You bet it is worth it!!!!!
My daughter said, Mom, you should have seen your face when you walked out of that dressing room.

Hang in there. Alot of it is a head thingy. Hey, you know what everything taste like, right? Well, just say that to yourself. That was my problem was all the carbs I would eat. My highest weight 276, I am now 150. Please don't give up. This is an awesome journey, just hang in there.

Hugs & Love,

Karen

Congrats on 9 yrs of success and health!  It's great to finally see someone on OH who is longer than 1-2 yrs out.  I hope that when I'm 9 yrs out I will be just as successful as you have been.
