OT: Does anyone in So. Cal work for a public school?

I applied for a classified position at a local public school and they want me to come in for an assessment test. Does anyone know what this assessment is all about? Can you give me any tips on how to land a job in a public school? Thanks for any help!

I have worked for the public school district in Murrieta for 12 years.  An assessment test is a basic math and english skills test.  Ours has spelling, math and a few other life skill questions.  I don't know what your district test will exactly have, but it is probably similar.  I subbed many different jobs in the district before I found what I really liked to do.  I also met a lot of different people through subbing.  Good Luck. 

I know our district does the basic math and English testing....it is really no biggie! Good luck getting a position...things are rough out there in the teaching community!
