So far....so slow......

Sorry I haven't posted much lately.  Things have been so crazy the last few months.

Well....almost 5 months post op I'm down 53 pounds.  I think it should be more....lots more....but I've had addiction transfer problems and about 3 months ago started drinking rum.  Plus I haven't  been exercising.

However today is a new day and my husband and I have committed ourselves to stop drinking.  He's been an alcoholic for about 20 years, so this is going to be hard for him.

We've had some horrible financial set backs in the past year and a half, including losing our home, our daughters moved a few months ago so I'm having empty nest syndrome...BAD.... and our one and only grand child died last month.  So the quitting drinking will be extra hard, I suppose.  But I'm committed.  I can't do this any more to my body, and well....my husband is going to help by quitting drinking too.

I hope the next 5 months will show a greater loss that the first 5.

Oh here is a pic of me I took yesterday.  As soon as I get some darn clothes that fit, I'll take some full body shots.  :O)

Wow sweetie.. I am so sorry to hear about all your troubles..

You are so very right.. What is in the past is the past, and you can get over this and start by taking it one day at a time..  Sometimes it is not easy, (life isn't always easy) but YOU CAN DO THIS.

Find a good support system, that really helps to be held accountable for the things you are doing.. (at least it does for me)

BIG HUGS TO YOU HUN...

If ever you need someone to talk to or vent your troubles to, I am here for ya.. You can PM me here, or I will give you my email address in a PM, and you can write to me anytime..

I will be leaving at the end of this month for a month, but I will give you my cell number too.. Text me, call me, what ever you need..

Keep that chin up, and remember to keep taking those baby steps..

Hugs,
Jenn

First off sooo sorry to hear of  your loss.  What you have written truly does explain a lot as to why your weight loss is what it is.  But at the same time... 10lbs a month is freakin great girl!  I mean super!  I'm still pre-op..... I truly do hope I can be as successful as you have been sweetie!  10lbs a month truly seems impossiable yet you have done it!  Don't stress your weight right now.  You have a lot going on personally and your success can only be acheieved when you're giving it 100%.  You know what you have to do girl... get it done!

A super big hug and keep up the great work!  You are a success...

I am so sorry you are going through so much Melissa.  I completely understand the whole cross addition thing.  It happened to me in a big way too.  At one point, I was doing nothing but drinking from the point I got home from wor****il I passed out and then got up and started the whole thing again.  I no longer do that and am trying to get my eating back on track so I can lse some of this weight I gained.  It is a hard road but stay here and get some kind of support where you live.  I am glad your husband is going to help you.  Throw out all the rum bottles and don't even walk down that asile in the store.  Stay strong sweetie and take it one day at a time as they say.  Good luck and pm me if you ever need anything.
My great hope is to laugh as much as I cry; to get my work done and try to love somebody and have the courage to accept the love in return.-- Maya Angelou

Thank you sooo much guys!  You are all so sweet and awesome.  I'm so glad for this site.  It's been 4 days of no drinking so I'm happy with that, but it's been hard today.  :O(  I'm missing my girls and still grieving the death of my grandson.  Ohhhh does it ever end? :O(

School starts Monday so I'll have that to take my mind off all this crap.  :O)

I hope everyone is having a great Friday and will have a WONDERFUL weekend!!!  :O)

Again, thank you for all the encouraging words and offers to talk and positive thoughts....I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!!
