So touching and beautiful beyond words!!! Thanks so much for sharing with us and reminding us of reality!

My MIL died from complications from Diabetes because she never followed the Diabetic rules. In the end she was on Dialysis every day, had a shunt in her brain to drain fluid, and once they started amputating body pieces, she no longer cared!! It is not a fun death to watch and I soooo feel your pain here. And even with all of that, did I do better when I first found out I was diabetic, NOPE!!! So thanks for the reminders sweetie!!!   YOU ROCK for posting this!!!!   bigg huggs, Becky

WOW Ms. Shells.  Thank you so much for sharing from your heart.  This is such a wake up call.  I am continually complaining about having to walk here or there (no car) but I need to look at it the right way....I am getting exercise and I can walk.  I watched my ex's father die from diabetes and now my ex is walking down that same path because he refuses to take care of himself.  I decided to have WLS so I could be there for my children because I knew the path their father was on was going to put him in an early grave (he is currently blind in one eye and almost blind in the other and going through kidney failure).  They needed at least one healthy parent.

Thank you Ms Shells for reminding me why I did this.  I need someone to kick me in the butt once in a while.
My great hope is to laugh as much as I cry; to get my work done and try to love somebody and have the courage to accept the love in return.-- Maya Angelou

Ms Shell,

Thank you so much for sharing this story.  Tomorrow is actually my 9 year "Re-Birth" day and I really needed this to get me out of my current state of mind and back to remembering why I had this procedure to begin with!

Your words have touched so many......you are a blessing!

Thank you again!

Love you Shell, so proud of you.... run strong!!
Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Shell,

Thank you for opening your heart and sharing from the very bottom of it.  I think that is a rare gift to be able to do that not just for yourself, but for those who share many of the same issues with you.  You have reached out and helped many of us take another look at why we did this.  You are blessing to all that have read this.  Girl keep on moving, keep on eating healthy and Keep on focusing on HIS plan for you.  I am proud to know you!

Ms Shell, I need this post!  Thank you so much for sharing it and making me think again of why I had WLS and reminding me that if our parents can endure the pain and suffering than we can endure a little pain too!  Thanks again for sharing.  It would be good to see your post every now and again just as a reminder and some inspiration.
Thanks again
Hugs

It sure is good C'ING LESS OF ME!

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
& all are different colors....but they

ALL exist very nicely in the same box.
