Looking for Gastric Bypass friends in Bay area

Hey all! My name is Darcy. I'm almost 10 months out and had Roux en Y. I was wondering if there were any of you out there who lived near me.. Morgan Hill, San Jose? I live in Gilroy... I've been hoping to meet some real life support. I've just been looking for some friends around here since i moved recently, and I just wanted to meet some people who had the same experiences. I can't seem to get anybody else to understand my choices for having this surgery. if anybody is out there, Message me! I'd love to hear from you!

Hey Darcy...I know there are plenty of people in your area...they just must not have been posting lately. I know there is a lunch thing coming up this Saturday in Pleasant Hill. I know that would be a trek for you, but there are a lot of people from all over the bay area who are attending. Look for a post by Barb...she is probably not back from Hawaii yet, but I know she is the one who puts the lunch thing together and I do believe she is from your area...but don't hold me to it!!!

Hope you can hook up with some people because support is pivital to success!

Thanks so much i keep a look out for her! i just would really love some real life support. I have a great support line going on at youtube. But i feel like a physical   interaction would be more fulfilling. Thanks so much for your response!

Hi Darcy, I am 11 months out today! I live in Hayward, which isn't all that far from you. I will be attending that lunch this Saturday. Our first lunch was in May so this is our 2nd lunch and its also a clothing exchange. Go through the CA message board and look for Nor Cal luncheon heading and you'll find the info. we have folks coming from all over, as far as monterey. last month we had almost 20 people, pre and post op and even family members came.  I know what you mean about wanting a buddy to hang out with that understands us. i belong to an online yahoo group that includes people from USA and out of country but some of the Norcal folks have actually met a few times. I'm arranging a get together for july in elk grove (at someones house) but again people will come from san jose, bay area, all over.  you can pm me if you'd like and we can chat. take care

Freakin bummer! i used to live 20 minutes away from stockton 3 months ago! and i had to move away out of modesto because i couldn't find a job! oai! lol. But thanks for your repsonse i could always  have more friendship!

Hey Darcy,

I live in Seaside/Monterey...  That is about an hour or so from you.. Not sure if that is to far for ya, but I am here for ya if you need me..

 I am however going to be leaving in a couple days for a month.. I will not be back till the end of July.. (going home for some much needed homesickness remedy.. *wink*)

But feel free to email, call, or even text me while I am gone.. (texting is probably the best way, but if you can't, the other ways will work.. Just be patient with me.)

Anywho, I sure hope you find some new support out there.. I know all to well how hard it is for outsiders to understand..
