PROTEIN SHAKE POLL! Need your help!

I'm trying to get an idea what protein shakes are out there. What taste well and what sits well in your tummy. I am lactose intolerant and have tried a few but none have really called my name.
I came across a post months ago of a website that had samples at a low cost. Anyone hear of this website? I misplaced my notes and hoping someone out there has any suggestions.
I finished the last I had and need to pick up my protein, vitamins and a few other items first thing in the morning. Any other pointers or items I should get that are not on the Docs shopping list that would assist in this transition to my new change of life?

Surgery date is 7/10/09
Thanks,
Kel~

Hi Kel, Unjury has samples for $1.75 each. They have chocolate, vanilla, strawberry sorbet (I didn't like that one), and chicken soup. The 3 are pretty good, you may want to try the strawberry sorbet as well. The website is www.unjury.com . I use Syntrax Matrix 5.0 in very vanilla and chocolate. Their cookies and cream is really good too. I get it through www.bariatriceating.com . Good luck and comgrats on having surgery. =)

I use Syntrax Nectars as well. I like the fact that they are not "shakes" but have the consistency of water and mix with a spoon. They also have "take alongs" so i can keep them in my purse in a pinch....

Sorry i buy mine at a local nutrition store so dont have the samples site for you though....

I drank a lot of Syntax Nectars from vitacost.com. I would also add Unjury unflavored to my Starbucks iced coffees... it does blend in within a few minutes with simple stirring.

I now drink CLICK... my tummy could not have handled it a few years ago.

Kel,

Love my Unjury!  I also love Click, both available on line.  I did wait until post surgery to try these though.

Vitamins are cheapest if you buy them locally, I get most of mine at Walmart and/or Costco.  Citrical Petities work great you can crush them initially and then swallow them as soon as your surgeon gives you the green light, Centrum chewables, sublingual B-12, vitamin D, Biotin & chewable vitamin C are what I take.

If you can, get a magic bullet for post-op purees, it works great!

Hope this helps,
Barb

Whatever you do do NOT run out and get a ton of something you like now, because your taste might/will change after you surgery.

Keeping that in mind...........unjury no flavor you can add to your soft foods,. and make "protein puddlin" or something like that.

Good luck

I like Chike. I get it at Express Metabolics. They have samples they will sell you.

I didn't like the Unjury stuff... it had some sort of funny after taste I didn't like.

I got TONS of samples from VitaLady.com when I was pre-op. It took me about 2 months to go through them. I took notes on which ones I hated and which ones I liked so I knew what to re-order.
