8 days til sugery........
I am so excited, so totally stoked. Just thinking about being on that loser's bench has me doing the happy dance
. I have wanted this for so long.
Question: Is there something wrong with me cuz I'm not nervous at all (at least not yet)? lol
So, any last things I need to know???? The stuff that's not in the book (lol) for during the hospital stay and after???
Also, wanna thank everyone for all the great information I have gotten and read. This site sooooo rocks!! (((HUGS to All)))

Theresa,
There is absolutely nothing wrong with you because you're not nervous. You've done your homework, prepared yourself for this wonderful life changing journey and surrounded yourself with the support of those who have gone before you and those who are waiting to begin the journey. The greatest thing is that we're all in this together!
Besides the walking and the sipping post surgery. I recommend, bringing your iPod or MP3 player into surgery with you. Talk to you surgeon and anesthesiologist and tell them it helps you relax. They will wheel you into surgery with it, remove it once you are asleep and when you awake in recovery, they should have put it back in. This really helped me to relax and be in my element.
Also, if you don't have a Magic Bullet, get one or borrow one for the mushee stage, it's a great thing to have.
Hope these are helpful tidbits.
Hugs,
Barb

Theresa congratulations on your upcoming surgery. You surely have made the right decision to improve the health of your life. I wish you will....and things you need to know....well all surgeons are different and for sure I would stick with your surgeons protocal.

Theresa,
I felt the same way you did. I was prepared, I had a great Dr. I couldn't wait to start the journey and let me tell you, "What a ride." Hold on cause you are going to have the ride of your life.
Just make sure you take chapstick with you to the hospital too. That really helped with the dry lips.
Hugs & Love,
Karen
