Pyschologist in So Cal
Well..
I think I have some issues I want to go through with a psychologist during this process to help change my food addiction and habits. There is a good one at my program, however, he doesn't take insurance up front and since Im unemployed, I can't afford that at the moment.
Ive been looking through my insurance program lists of psychologists and its hard to decide who to call.. "eating disorders"?
So.. if any of you know any good ones in the Long Beach or north orange county area or anywhere in that space that takes insurance, would love a reccomendation. even if you send me a private mail. My insurance is Aetna PPO.
Thought it's at least worth a shot to ask on here :) Never know.
Thanks so much!

Just for a bit of information, in Southern California there is a Mental Health counseling group that you can get to by calling 211 on your telephone. They will ask you a couple questions and refer you to someone in your area that deals with your situation. Best part is that it is payment based on income. When I was on unemployment I paid $5 per session.
Thanks for passing on the info. I was going to suggest the same thing. For work, we use 211 to get clients info on available Mental Health services, psychologists, etc. and they can pay with medi-cal or on a sliding scal e(ie, pay based on their income). Give them a call, or also try Dept of Mental Health http://www.dmh.ca.gov/
