OT; Spinal Surgeon Doc Visit

Well the news is that they are going to be able to get rid of some of the pain, the bad news is, my life will never be the same. First I have spinal stenosis, that is the canal that holds your spinal fluid and nerves...well my is so closed up, that the doctor said he could barely see spinal fluid flowing through it.  Second, the spine is worse than 1 year ago, so much so that he will be placing spacers between 3 vertebrae then at the end if the spacers will be rods on each side to hold the spine in place.  No fusions just this contraption which he said he didn't even do a year ago.  Surgery will be within 3 weeks.  They took away the Percocet and gave me some kind of morphine pill, I don't know, not sure I want to continue on it.

I only ask from all, prayers, to guide my surgeons hands, so he can skillfully give back me some part of my life, even if it's just enough to get the heck out of this chair and see downstairs.  I am staying upbeat, or trying, because in this world there is always someone who would trade to be you because they are so much worse off.

Thanks all for listening.

Love and hugs to my friends!

Good Morning Diane.....

Well, its kinda of good news. Losing even just some of the pain is good. Right? I am sorry that they have to do surgery to do that. And I will for sure send out good vibes so that your "Higher Power" keeps you and your surgeon in great form.

Sending you Hugs

Diane,

I am glad they are going to be able to do something about some of the pain. Spinal surgery sure has come a long way. Thank goodness, that they aren't doing fusions. My MIL had spinal fusion surgery. Such cutting edge stuff nowadays. I will definatly include you in my prayers. You are always in my thoughts. 3 weeks is good, and Im sure not soon enough for you, but I am sure it will come sooner than you know it. Getting new meds is always hard. I have had the morphine pill and the fetynol patch, neither are fun. I had insomnia and nausea as a result. I hope you do better.

I will also say prayers to guide all that go into the operation room with you, as well as a successful recovery. Big hugs to you.

Hugs, love, and friendship,

Michelle T.

Diane I am so sorry about what you are going through...I cannot even imagine. You know I will keep you in prayers that the doctors do skillfully bring some pain relief and maybe on the outside hope that they can do more than they think!

Hang in there....your attitude is going to pull you through!

Hugs GF
