My partner and I are looking for a place to go in the Los Angeles area for a support group.  Our hospital offers them twice a month ... the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 6-7pm but that is hard to do with animals and we live a fair bit away from where we work.  We work at the hospital were she and I both have surgery.

We live in the Santa Clarita Valley but would be willing to go to the San Fernando Valley for any meetings as well. 

My partner had Gastric Bypass (RNY) June 15, 2009 to help her with her Metabolic Disorder and I had VBG April 21, 2004 and I am going in to have a revision to Gastric Bypass (RNY) on July 15, 2009.  We will definetly need the support.

Lisa I am so unfamilar with the Los Angeles area even though I live in SoCal but I say I live in the desert instead of SoCal. I am originally from NorCal.

There is a place on the home page of the CaliBoards that has support group meetings I know that. I would keep posting because a number of people out in your area are probably on vacation with it being a holiday weekend.

Mainly I want to tell you and your partner that I wish you the best of luck achieving your goals and I know that it is a tough road to hoe so to speak. It is good that both of you have the support of each other in the meantime as a number of us are the only ones in our household that are gb people.

Keep coming to the boards and don't go away....for some of us, this is our only means of support because there is nothing in our areas.

There are support groups that meet weekly in Lancaster. Every Tuesday eveing from I think 6pm at teh lutheran church of the master.

There was a group in Mission Hills, in the San Fernando Valley every other Thursday 7:00m at Facey medical Center.
