Folsom or Sacramento Support Group???

A member is looking for a Support Group near Folsom California.  If anyone is aware of a Support Group in this area and/or Sacramento-please let me know.  I already informed her of the OH Group site in which she can look up Support Groups by zip code.

There are several in the Sacramento area.  I attend one on Monday nite at Elk Grove Kaiser, on Big Horn Rd. While it is currently all Kaiser patients, we are open to anyone seeking information and support, pre or post op.

I also attend one in Lodi every other Saturday morning, at Dee Dee's Restaurant, on Cherokee Ln, cross street Kettleman Ln. They have a meeting this Saturday starting at 11am.  This is also open to pre and post op patients.

I know that Sutter Hospital, I believe the General Hospital on 28th and Capital (or is it K St) in Sac has a support group...found them on line..don't know what their meeting time is.

Also, UC Davis, Sac extension (on Stockton Blvd, 'Med Center') had listed a support group but I think this one is post op only.

All you need to do is  in the Google search box, type 'Bariatric surgery support Sacramento' and you get a long list.  Hope this helps!

I don't remember you giving me a OH website to look up a group thru. Please send it again.

I did try to contact a group claiming to be out of Sac but never got a response from them.
Don't know how to reach them. IF anyone does.

Nancy,   I know you mentioned one you go to one Monday nights in Elk Grove,CA.  Sac is already 25 miles away from me and I'm not sure how far Elk grove is farther.  I don't see well at night so I was concerned about trying to drive that far at night after the class.

I don't know anything about the UC Davis group.  Maybe I missed that one.  I see the Hospital off the freeway when I have to drive down to Sac.  I am post op so that would help.

I went to one thru my docs office last night and no one spoke afterward.... I will keep going once a month but I need more as I don't have anyone in my life who has had this procedure and new life style day to day to talk to.

I wish you the best in finding more groups in your area.  As I hear, I will continue to keep you posted.
