Wait time to see Dr, Rabkin
Good day all - hope this Wednesday is turning out to be a good one for everyone. I have a question for Dr, Rabkin patients. I know I am a head of myself, but am so excited and can't wait! My last appointment with my NUT is September 16th - I will have my behavioral health consult visit done the end of August first part of September so I can request my referral on September 17th. Does anyone know the waiting list for Dr. Rabkin, how long it takes from the time you call to make an appointment until you get an appointment? How about his surgery schedule - does it take weeks or months to get surgery scheduled? Since he is an out of network doctor I have to do my six month before I can get a referal. Thanks and just asking!
Hi, Paulette!
I don't think the wait time is bad with Dr. Rabkin for either consultation or surgery. And he's one of the best DS surgeons available, so even if you had to wait a little it would be worth it. He's also a very pleasant person to deal with, and the aftercare he provides is excellent.
Pacific Laparoscopy sponsors support groups all over the bay area. The big group will be meeting in San Francisco tonight, as it happens, and you attend that meeting if you're free. Dr. Rabkin does an educational presentation the first hour for new people. I usually go to the meetings in San Jose, which are third Wednesday every month, so that will be next week. The San Jose group is small and very informal. You would be more than welcome to join us. If you are interested in more info, just send me a pm.

Thanks Larra - there is a group that meets the last Wednesday of the month in Stockton - I just emailed the coordinator to see if I could attend before I get my referral. Hopefully I can attend and get my answer there! I plan on having all my ducks in a row by the date of my last NUT consult. Thanks again for the info!
