7 Months Post Op
So here I am at 7 months post op. I havent posted in a LONG while and thought I would give an update.
So around month 5 I stopped losing weight and started having hot flashes, major menstrual pain, and periods every 2 weeks. The ran a bunch of tests but didn't and still can't figure out what is going on. No matter how much I work out or what I eat, the weight is not coming off. I figure no big deal because as long as I am doing the right things, it will eventually happen, right???
Maybe...keep reading
So here I am doing good and not upset at not losing weight and I found out that I am pregnant, despite the fact that we used bc! So I am just 4 weeks along and nervous about malabsorbtion with the baby and all that stuff. Also, last year I had an unexplained miscarriage at 18 weeks. Between that history and being only 7 months post op, have me worried. I have already set up my appointment with my OB and hopefullly they will be knowledgable about pregnancy after wls.
I hope you all are doing great and any advice and thoughts are welcome.

Wow! What a surprise. I am not a parent, but I can imagine what a shock this is. My hope for you is good medical care and that you're kind to yourself. At least you know why you're not losing weight. You probably need your OB to talk to your gastric bypass surgeon. They surgeon would hopefully have some knowledge about pregnancy only 7 months out that the OB might not have.
I wish you the best of luck! What an adventure you're on!
