OT: Bad News

Katt,

I am sorry to hear about the unfortunate events going on in your life right now. There may not be much sunlight on your family at this moment, but the clouds will blow away and soon you will have the newness of life again. Even though the rain seems like its flooding, it too will subside and and your feet will touch land again. I know there are no words that can help you right now. But I must commend you on reaching out and trying to maintain contact with friends. We must move foward, for looking back is just a memory and nothing will change except for the wall you will bump into by not looking foward. I wish you well my friend. I will continue to pray and keep you in my thoughts.

ps. The "new" library on Sierra is awsome and they have so many computers, I love it. Make sure to keep us posted. We will be waiting for you here with open arms.

Thanx Michelle, we'll have internet until at least July 21st. It all depends on how much Matthew gets on unemployment. I haven't checked out the new library yet. I may need to do that soon. xoxoxo

I am sorry to hear this news.  Being let go from a job is chaotic and causes so much anxiety. I think the ideas that you check in with us using Internet access at the library is a good idea.  I know when I have anxiety, food really tempts me, especially munching in between meals.  

I know there have been a lot of ideas put out there that are good, some temp agencies employ people who type 30 wpm or they are looking for people where typing isn't required.  I'd go to all the temp agencies and knock on their door.  Also, most EDD offices have job clubs or some sort of help or assistance when it comes to looking for a job. Please check that out.  When I was laid off in 2002, our EDD had a job seekers club where people helped with applications, resumes, and allowed us to practice interviews.  It was really helpful.

KAtt, I am so sorry to hear Matt has been laid off and I know it has to be so hard for the two of you in this very stressful time. But when things get rough, you just have to get tuff! Get out there an kick some butt! I know you and Matt will be okay even if it is scary as can be right now there is light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. And you can always go to the Library to still in touch and to send out resumes etc.
