Cigna requirements for California?

Hi Calimom!

When I read the Cigna policies for our company online it actually says that they do cover the DS.

So I'm hoping that I won't have to try and go for the RNY first.

I actually had their HMO for 5 years before I last december decided that I wanted WLS and changed over to their PPO plan. Only to then realize that we are covered for WLS under the HMO but not under the PPO.

So now I'm just waiting for december to come around again, so I can change back to the HMO and really start to get things going.

So someone here on OH told me to do the 6 months diet with my PCP while I wait. I can probably get around it if I would appeal. But someone here told me that I might as well do it since I have to wait until december anyway.

I'm thinking there is just one thing less that they can deny me on after I finish the 6 month diet.. My BMI is also over 50, so I'm hoping I won't have too much trouble getting approved.
