Darlene,
I will start today, actually I started last night with the protein. I didn't truly understand how much they do for our bodies. I am definitely going to be choosing the carrot, so long as its not mushy, lol. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I will do my best from today out.

You are a beautiful and articulate young woman.  Stop sabotaging yourself.  You can do this and you deserve it.

I'm sure you've seen this saying around the wls forums, but I'll repeat it:

"Nothing tastes as good as THIN FEELS."

Good luck!

Thank you! I will start to say that to myself when ever I get an urge to eat something I shouldn't have. Thanks again for taking the time to respond to me. Have a great day.

Do I need to come down there and hug the stuffing out of you?  And to teach you to drink your protein shakes???  And to take your vitamins????  I did it to Rhonda and I can do it to you!

You deserve this!  You took the first step by admitting to yourself and to others about what is going on. Now, take the 2nd step and get rid of the crap and load up on the good stuff.    If you don't have it, it makes it that much harder to munch on it.

I found my self snacking a lot and I've gained 5#.  I recognized it and now I'm taking the steps to get back in line.  If I can do this, you can too!

We're here for you................ you deserve this and be good!

I will start doing better. If only I can find a protein that I like. I don't want to find one now and then in a week and a half my taste buds change and Im back to square one! I will make you proud, Mo! I got rid of the crap and now I have to go and do my shopping for when I return. Congrats on losing the 4#!! Thank you for caring, my friend!

Michelle, check online at www.unjury.com or www.vitalady.com for protein shake choices. You can even do the sample packets if you don't want to invest in a big 'ol tub. They have some good flavors. Banana scream from Champion Nutrition is the da bomb, and I am a chocolaholic. Remember though your taste might change after surgery. Good luck.

Hugs to you little missey . . . and now another opinion (agreeing with what everyone above has already said) . . . but adding another thought.

Do you not have to do a 2 week "liquid" diet before your surgery?  I was on 3 protein drinks a day, with one SMALL meal of protein / veggies a day . . . and lost 16 lbs before my surgery. PLUS 64 oz water minimujm . . . don't know if you have to do this . . . but it cuts all the crap immediately . . . and once your stomach stops rumbeling (my daughter could hear mine across the room), it really isn't that bad and gets that craving for carbs out too.  Just a thought.

This is something you will always have to deal with . . . the mind battle is the worst part of the entire process I think (for me).  At least you aren't having a band - which would put you into bandster hell . . .which I think is where I am again at the moment . ..  hungry . . . with very very little restriction . . . and though I KNOW what I have to do . . . I'm not getting it accomplished.  Add to that the fact that I can't do my walking (well minimal) . . . or much else that moves my hips . . . I'm up 7 lbs and each day I just say "OK . . . start again" and try to do my best.  I have to do this for ME . . . and I'm going to!

On the protein drink thing . . . I for one have to drink at least 1 a day to get all the protein in I can . . . don't know what you are taking . . . but find one you like.  One of the campers turned me on to the Premium brand "Protein" from Costco . . . 30 grams a pop . . . but it's premade . . . which works just fine for me . . . or add non flavored to other foods you are eating . . .but get it AND YOUR VITAMINS in . . . you MUST do your vitamins every day without fail . . .that is NOT an option . . . ask Jenn who was passing out and getting dizzy all the time and the doctor said "we'll have to do a revision" . . . the nutrients for your body are NOT to be fooled with . . . it can be very bad for you very quickly!

Hugs to you lady . . . one day . . .one hour . . .whatever it takes . . . and now I should start following my own advice NOW!

Luv Ya
Chris

Good mornng Chris,
No, I wasn't told to do a liquid diet, yet. They just told me to replace 1 meal with a protein shake and take my vitamins. and yes, the water, too. Wow, 30 grams? Thats really good. but whats it taste like? I want to say thank you fror taking the time to answer me. I appreciate the advice that you have offered me and I will be doing some major revisions to my "diet". Thank you again Chris! Big hugs and love you too!

I found paying attention to the rules was a real pain for me.  I did follow what the doctor said eventually, because I didn't want my liver to be so big as to make the surgery worse for me.  Please, it's time for a change, you don't have to wait till your surgery date, do it now, it will help so much with the surgery and your mental attitude after the surgery.  You need to give up the crap food now, so you realize what a strong person you are, that you gave it up, you made the choice and surgery didn't make the choice for you.

Hugs, Diane
