Good Morning California

I was awakened early with text messages from a friend trying to sign up for Physiology.  She wanted to have the same teacher I had for lecture and lab, so I can help her with all my notes.  I'm glad she woke me though because it's going to be a hot one again and I need to get my run in early.

As for today, run, bills, homework, phone calls to a couple nursing programs.  I managed to dwindle down my list of "to-do's" somewhat and spread it out a bit more.  So I'm off for a run and then start on the rest of my day.

Have a great Monday, California.  (oh and I hate ants too........wish I knew a magic remedy)

Good Morning Chris and Cali Crew!

I can so empathize with you, Chris, about the ants! I live next to an open field and boy do we get them! They drive me crazy,,, they are just everywhere! I try to spray and water the front patio, but to no avail. These desert ants are stubborn creatures, and some are bigger than a small dog! I will have to try Rhonda's suggestion for the vinegar, see if that works. So now I have to put on my to-do list today-- buy vinegar.
Yesterday was a busy day for me. We went down to see my mom, so that I could see her before my surgery. The visit was nice. I was supposed to see my brothers and sisters too, but all the sudden they were busy and had plans. Thats o.k. though, they aren't too supportive about me having this surgery. I guess to them I am better off obese and unhealthy or even dead, then to have this "cheating elective" surgery. The usual response I get is "well, you are choosing to have this. Its not like its real regular surgery". Lord, help me deal with my ignorant family. I brought books and phamplets to show them, and they didn't even show up. Yup, happy birthday to me. They all chose to ignore the fact that my birthday is friday. And yet, I didn't forget the 4 that have or had birthdays this month. My mom says she doesn't have a good feeling about this surgery, so she want me to go to confession and communion before surgery, "just in case". Great.
Anyway, that was yesterday, this is today. A brand new day. I have errands to run, and a couple of places to go. I am going to try to do everything before it gets too warm out. I also want to go to the high desert coffee. Those are my plans, lets see what happens. Have a wonderful day, my friends! I will be thinking of each of you!

So sorry to hear the trip didn't go as expected, Michelle.  Family can be so cruel sometimes and they really don't mean to be.  Chock it up to their ignorance, fear, and inability to express any of it.  Bless your mom for at least in some way expressing her concern, even if it comes out negative.  God will take care of your soul, YOU take care of your body!  And I don't mean that in a sarcastic way...your body is God's Temple...He expects us to treat it right.  You have made the decision to do just that! This is for YOU!

So, how did you handle the feelings yesterday?  Disappointment, rejection, anger, hurt but also happiness, joy and relief (at getting home! LOL).  Which was the hardest to deal with? Did you discover that one or more were 'triggers' to making wrong/bad/mistaken choices?  Now is the time to take advantage of the opportunity to learn; every emotional time for me is a new opportunity to 'choose' and make the right decision about my eating habits. Have I learned to make healthy, beneficial choices?  I admit, not all the time...but I pay closer attention! LOL

I'm so happy to see you have had an 'attitude adjustment'...it shows in your last paragraph!  Today is a brand new day..'Go Sieze the Day'!  Have a Wonderful Birthday Friday!  Take Rhonda to the gym and work her butt off! LOL  You are Special..be good to YOU!

Hey, don't worry about the sibs........ they don't live with you!  I have the same problem as none of them supported me.  They are so SNOBBI**** is beyond belief.  They look down on my hubby because he works the trades and is not "college educated"  Well, they can kiss my shar-pei a$$!  I am healthy, I am loving life, I am doing things I have only dreamed of doing, and I am doing it with my best friend!  You, too must carry on with your incredible attitude!  YOU are so worth this and this is not "elective cheating" surgery.  This is damn hard work and we are up to the challenge!!!

Charge on!  You'll be coming up next year with Rhonda and Becky for our RAFTING trip!!!!

Screw the people that don't support you! You are doing this for you ! It's your life and we all completely support you and love you!  you are going to to do great and the surgery is going to go so well for you!

My fiance had no support for this surgery.. I think because he was scared that I could die and have complications.  He didn't go with me to anything.  I told him I didn't care, I was doing it for me and nothing he said could stop me.   Yesterday he was on the phone with me all excited about things that we would be able to to together once Im feeling better.  It was a total change in attitude, maybe because he sees that i am ok and now on my way.  who knows.  im prepared for either scenario.. break up or moving forward. As long as Im happy.

Now you... have such a positive attitude and I know you can do it!  And a birdie told me you would be at LB Coffee this weekend and Im so excited to meet you !!!

Happy Birthday Early!

hugs,

Jackie

Michelle,

I am so sorry your trip wasn't a good one. I agree with what everyone else said. You are doing this for you, and screw them. It is hard though when it is your family. You are doing this for yourself, and you are the only person that you have to answer to. You are going to do great with the surgery. Maybe they will come around after they see how great you are doing. Happy Birthday early to you too.
