Interesting actually.  I went and looked her up.  I don't think she is very overweight, but I do understand where other people are coming from.  I think a surgeon general should be of great health.  I also think they should be in great shape if they are planning to make decisions on the health of America.  Leading by example is what I say. But she does not appear from the one photo I saw to be obese, but maybe overwieght.  What should be important also is what are her thoughts and ideas on WLS?  I did not research that part of it at all.  I don't know enough about her to make a decision if I think she is good or not, just that any surgeon General Man or woman should live what they preach.  I am an ex smoker myself and honestly am extreemly disappointed that our current President is a smoker, what kind of message is that sending out to our children.  Those are my 2 cents for what they are worth.

I'm interested in knowing what kind of payback you get for what amount of people check out your blog.........

I'm actually pretty tired of coming to the California forum and seeing your messages to direct us to your blog. I have never and will not ever check it out (my choice) and think that if you have something that important you should post it in a message. This is a place for support and encouragement to WLS people. Not a place for politics.

Just my 2 cents

Hi Sue,

I feel what you saying.  For the future, just don't click on her post.  You can always ignore it.

Then there is the other side.  I like reading what she has to say.  There are lots of things that she posts on, and most are WL friendly.  Use the block and you won't see her posts.  She is an inspiration to me, she reminds me of me in her before picture and has done what I have not been able to do, and that is reached goal.

Glad that you voiced your opinion, that is what makes this world go round.

Hugs, Diane

Kim and Diane,

I appreciate what both of you are saying. I usually do just skip over her posts and I'm sure she does have a lot of great things to say and is an inspiration to many. I just don't care for the way she goes about some things and did feel the need to express myself.

Hugs to you both!

I totally agree with you and understand why you are angry.  I honestly think that she may be the best one for the job at this stage in health care reform.  Who would know better about the those that need the help the most.  She can be and is most likely sensetive to the needs of those that are over weight, poor, and women.

In this economy I think now is the time for a change in Washington and it is comming in bits and pieces.

Just a few thoughts.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Any excuse for those who want to argue against her. It's typical weight discrimination and that's the ONLY discrimination that's acceptable now-a-days, I'm seeing.

Heck...who had a doctor who was fat and smoked? For YEARS it was the case...My doctor is maybe just alittle over weight now but when I was a kid, I had several and all three of them were FAT and SMOKED cigarettes...So if the surgeon general is a tad overweight, who gives a rat's behind?

Who better to tell us how to be healthy than someone who has BEEN THERE! that's what I think.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!
