Today is my hubby's birthday too!  So Happy Birthdays all around

Just finishing my coffee here, then I'm off for my half hour run.

Then Algebra, Algebra, Algebra.  As I said in my "thankful" post, I found out I actually got 75% on my Midterm and I'm THRILLED because this is a semester course squeezed into 8 weeks and it's very difficult.  My Final Exam is August 1st, so I will be finishing my last chapter and quiz this week and then doing nothing but studying for the Final.  If I work really hard, I could just pull off a "B" in this class.  I've already signed up for Intermediate Algebra in the Fall, so I have to get at least a "C".

Anyhoo, off to run.

Have a great day, everyone!

Morning Lu and Cali gang
Usually don't get here this early, unless it's the weekend, but I'm waiting for a copier sales rep to show up and promise me the moon if I would just buy a new color copier by month's end. Unfortunately for her, that's not how I purchase equipment for the company LOL  Our current contract is up Aug 31, so I plan on researching and comparing machines before I make any decisons ^_^

I'm looking forward to the next couple of days and just hope work goes by quickly.  Went to my favorite thrift store last nite to look for a dress; found the dress plus jeans and tops and a pretty pearl necklace to wear with the dress.  Now, I don't buy or wear dresses very often, but this is for a special occassion...Lon and I are having professional pictures taken by Olan Mills for our church directory on Friday.  And the amazing thing? I'm actually excited about it!! LOL  We never had a formal wedding picture taken (we eloped! HAHA) so I plan on ordering some extras...but they better do an exceptional job...their pixs are kinda expensive, or at least they use to be. Hopefully, I can get a package deal.

On Saturday we head up to the Northern Cal luncheon and I'm excited about that!  Our weather has been gorgeous (mid 90's  so far this week!) so hopefully Lon and I can ride the scooters over and leave the car at home.  After the meetup, we'll look for some obscure way to get home via the back roads and have a nice leisurely ride home.  Saturday nite, if we don't pass out from being out in all the sunshine, I hope to get Lon to go play minature golf again...I just LOVE showing him up...ok, ok, I know that's not nice. But he GLOATS just as bad when he beats my butt!! LOL  Sunday will be house cleaning and relaxing...got some friends coming over next week so I guess I should get all the furniture vacumed of animal hair LOL

Time to go refill the coffee cup, start on the bank reconciliation and wait for the copier rep.  Hope everyone has a great day...we live in the best state in all 50!  We don't suffer tornados, hurricanes, blizzards or huge floods.  And our earthquakes are nothing compared to other countries like Mexico, for example. We are certainly BLESSED!  So----'Go Sieze The Day'!

Good morning Cali,

Hope you all stay cool out there.  I'm sitting at work in air conditioning, so it's all good for now.  Went to the Dodger game last night and saw Manny hit a grand slam!  Lots of fun.

The weekend is almost here!!

Morning Lu and Cali

I was nailed with homework yesterday. Nuts, nuts, nuts! And I got home late because I picked up the hubster, and yadda yadda yadda. So I finally settle down to get to work for a while. I had Paco, our ****atoo, out on his perch and he likes to jump down to the couch so he can get some lovin'. So I'm rubbing his back, and underneath his wings, pretty much absentmindedly and he bites my pinky finger. Hard. Really, really hard. There's a loud "snap" and I start bleeding all over the place. The bird got flung to the floor (like a dork, I tried pulling my hand away while he was still attached, so he got a little ride). He's perfectly fine - and I'm in extreme pain. We washed it off, and while I could move my finger, I could not bend it. We waited an hour or so, and when I still couldn't bend it we went to urgent care. Thankfully, nothing was broken but a blood vessel (it's starting to look purty - black and blue). Doc put me on a course of antibiotics and a tetanus shot. Fun.

That's my story. I hope ya'll are doing good!

OUCH! Paula...know exactly what you mean with those bird bites! We have a janday conure (parrot) and she has got a nasty bite when she gets persnickery.  She has bitten Lon a couple of times and drawn blood :-(  Needless to say, she doesn't get out of her cage for awhile after she pulls that stunt LOL  But, she is so darn affectionate most of the time, it's hard to punish her for long ^_^

I love conures! If I were to get another bird (besides a ****atoo; ours is a Goffin's) I would want some sort of conure.

I'm trying to think back (we've had him about 6 years, and he's around 32-ish we think) and I'm not sure my husband has ever been on the receiving end of his beak - not once! It's always me!

My husband's favorite story of him, is about 3 weeks after we got him (we adopted him from a friend who could no longer have him) he was sitting outside his cage. He was full flight at the time, that's how our friend always had him, because he had the bird around cats and wanted him to have a way of escaping. Anyway, I digress. He was on his cage - flew over to me and landed on my shoulder. I was *so* happy! He was starting to warm up to us! Not so. I turned to look at him. He proceeded to bite me on the nose (hard enough to draw blood) and then flew back to his cage.

Freakin' birds LOL

Hi Tanya . . . yes . . . we do a new daily thread every week (every day actually - eventually) . . . but Wednesdays are the day we weigh in . . . we are trying to collectively loose 1 TON of weight this year . . . I tally the numbers each week (sometimes Barbs steps in if I'm not around) and post the results on Thursdays.

Welcome . . . and feel free to jump in any time!

Chris

Yep, it's a fine day!  Good morning everyone!

I'm off to the lighthouse this morning and then a walk.  Tomorrow's my annual surgeon follow-up so I'll be out of here early (not so bright lol).

Have a great day!
