Getting back on track just stinks sometimes, doesn't it? LOL
It might be worth a try if it means avoiding another surgery. However, if you are dealing with a mechanical failure (like an enlarged stoma) getting back to basics probably won't do much to help with any regain.
Just so you know, Dr. Crookes is also an RNY surgeon and he does revisions both that correct an RNY or revising to another surgery type. Plus USC has its COE status.
Best of luck on whichever route you choose. I'm sure it's not an easy decision.
Thank you so much. I have already checked out Dr. Crookes and will be giving his office a call later today. And yes, getting back on track is harder then having the original surgery.
I don't really want another surgery, just had surgery this past March for another issue, but I don't want to get back to over 400 pounds again. Because of the other surgery I've reached my out of pocket maximum for the year which is why I decided to look into a revision.
I do believe that it is a mechanical failure but one that I exacerbated by doing things I shouldn't have been doing. I don't dump from sugar and have some mild dumping from fat. So my original reason for having the RNY (dumping syndrome) is basically non existant for me. Frankly when I went out to dinner one night last week and ordered a 9 ounce steak and before I realized it I had eaten the whole thing and I still could have eaten something else, I knew it was time to do something.
Anyway, thanks again for your input. You've been extremely helpful and I appreciate that so much. I always know that I can find answers from good people like you here on OH.

Have you considered PacLap in the San Fran bay area. Dr, Rabkin is an excellent DS surgeon and will take Anthem/BC of Cali patients to Camino Medical Center (a BC of Cali COE) in Mt. View, CA. Last summer when there was a BC contract delay with the COE my DS surgeon uses, I got authorization to use PacLap out of network with in network benefits. I didnt end up using PacLap because the contract issue got cleared up before I got through the process with Dr. Rabkin. If you dont mind traveling up here, this may be an option for you.
You may want to try the Bariatric group out of UCI in Orange.
Here is a link to my surgeon. I do not have Blue Cross, but my insurance also required I use a COE.

I know they dot he Stomaphyx, I believe his partner Dr. Nguyen does the DS.
